    Katsuki met his eyes, trying not to lose his nerve.

    “Please don’t tell me I can still be a hero.”

    Bakugou Katsuki needs three things to bring Izuku's dream back to life: time, money, and patience. And so, he chooses to dedicate infinite amounts of patience, millions of yen, over eight years, to his one and only goal.

    When Izuku closes his book on life as a hero, Katsuki opens another, and etches Izuku's name into the pages, the spine, the seams, the ink, everything.

    The lines of their stories intertwine like fireworks and lightning ringing loudly and shining brightly for everyone to see.

    Nagi grabs Reo’s arms, effectively stopping his movement and leaning forward. “Reo. Why are you always so stubborn? It's annoying,”

    Wrong words. Reo can’t help scoffing, suddenly feeling spiteful as memories of his rejection flash in his mind, his pain resurfacing. “Hah! That didn’t stop you from hurting me back in the second selection.”

    Nagi flinches, taken aback by Reo’s words. If Reo didn’t know any better, he may have thought he went too far. But then Nagi’s eyes darken, “That has nothing to do with this.”

    Reo pulls Nagi’s collar to him until their noses are almost touching. His purple eyes are wide open in a challenge. He wants Nagi to burn, to turn into flames with him. “It has everything to do with this.”

    He’s not going to be impressed by some fancy gadgets and glow-in-the-dark material. The suit will mean something because it will represent the years of hero work they all did for him. It will hold their blood, sweat, tears and any other fucking bodily fluid in every stitch and button. It will represent the countless lives saved. It will represent their call to arms. It will tell Izuku I need you, I thought about you every damn second, I kept you with me, I tried to live by your example, I tried to honour your life, I tried to think of the only way you would want it, the only way you couldn't say no.

    That’s what’s going to make the difference.

    Katsuki will find the money. That’s not the problem. Everything else is.
