He fully believes that Johnny wants to do a lot of things both with, and together with, him, he just worries that the line between ‘this is what I want’ and ‘I pretend to want this because I think you want me to want it’ gets blurred. Daniel's pretty sure he won't always be able to separate those (like with the blowjob-situation), but mostly he worries that Johnny isn't able to differentiate the two because he's not forced himself to reflect on the matter.

“Woke-ness has destroyed all the fun.”, Johnny complains before adding, without really thinking about it, but just keen on defending himself, “Besides, I'm allowed to because there's only two options: make jokes and laugh about it, or off yourself- and I’m allowed to say that as well because I’ve survived both and the tiniest privilege you should gain from a traumatised childhood is saying whatever weird shit you want about it as an adult.”, the words are out before he can stop himself and regret immediately crashes down on him when he notices the look on Sam’s face. She looks confused, and horrified and disgusted, all at once, and Johnny wants to run again.

He stood there with a serious look on his face, in a quite hideous checkered shirt Daniel had never seen, completely oblivious to the concept of a pop-in (honestly, that man's wardrobe was a damn crime – body like that deserved so much better). Then again, a Johnny Lawrence pop-in was an equally foreign concept to Daniel. Dropping by unannounced wasn’t something he did. Unless maybe something was up.
