    "Being normal with you."
    "I thought you loved being a hero?" Damian hummed, brushing Jon's hair back to see his full face.
     
    He hummed and leaned up to kiss between Damian's eyebrows.
     
    "I do, but still. People like us rarely get this kind of thing. I'm glad I get it with you."

    Dad takes his hand into his own, rubs the gentlest touch over the skin. Over each knuckle of his finger, bending them to make sure they're working right. “There you go. All better, kiddo.”

    Jon looks too. Then he looks anywhere else. He doesn’t feel all better.

    His chest still feels like it’s going to pop.

    He tried. He’d tried to do it all by himself. Jon’s one half of the best duo ever and he’s capable. He can handle tough situations and fight his way out. It’s just–
