In the late summer of 1985, Will Byers moved away to California. While Mike and him tried to stay in touch, they eventually fell off.
In the late summer of 1996 Will Byers moved back to Hawkins, Indiana. Now an art teacher, Will is struggling with the loss of many friends and the inability to find a job out west. So, he's now the art teacher at Hawkins High, and hey that dude next door looks really familiar.
Mike Wheeler on the other hand, never left Hawkins. He stayed and is now the high school's new-ish English 1 teacher. He's rather excited to start the new year. This totally isn't influenced by the new (handsome) teacher moving in next door. He goes to say hello and Mike feels like he’s seen him before.. And oh my god it can't be.

I was really curious if willry had any fics on ao3, and found this. Oh my god. So so so many tears, and at the same time, laughs . Every chapter made me have a different mental breakdown each time. I love the way that the mental instability is written in this, it gorgeous. It felt like real manic breaks, and thats what makes this fic so beautiful. Spent my entire day off reading this amazing piece of literature, could not put it down. I would love to know how to author feels after sotm though. Something tells me not swell but eh
