    The room moves around him, nurses in and out to check on his progress and remove his IV. A new doctor comes in with discharge papers, instructions about PT that Hollander studiously writes down. Ilya lets himself be moved and nods when it seems appropriate. But he hears none of it. The blood rushes through his ears and one word echoes in his chest over and over again. Husband.

    In 2025, Ilya suffers a hit on the ice and wakes up in the hospital. Shane Hollander is there, holding his hand. But the last thing Ilya remembers is a tuna melt (aaaaaaand Rose Landry).

A hefty price to pay for the Boston center, especially considering the two teams have sustained a bitter rivalry for years. But that might just be the psychology behind the trade. I think I speak for all hockey fans when I say I'm dying to see how the Metros will play with a reformed enemy on their side. And it's no secret that we've all wondered about the day that Rozanov and Hollander are the same side of the ice. The only thing left to ask is who will center who..."

    The anchor continues as a clip of Rozanov from a post-game interview last year plays—he’s shirtless and sweaty, smirking into the camera. And then he does that…that wink. Shane just stares up at the screen, dumbfounded. He’s not listening to the details anymore, but the words echo in his head.

    Metros to acquire Ilya Rozanov…

    He was coming here. To Shane's city.

    OR: Ilya gets traded to Shane's team a few months after Las Vegas, and Shane isn't happy about it.
