Now he’s somehow become the unofficial emotional support adult of Hogwarts, is being hunted by the house-elves because he keeps fixing castle structural problems himself, dealing with a basilisk situation that Merlin is “pretty sure he dealt with once already, back in the 5th century.” and trying to stop Gilderoy Lockhart from deciding that he is his "professional rival."

He sends a letter with specific set of instructions and a package to a tired and conflicted Hermione Granger. Having followed the instructions, Hermione wakes up on the Hogwarts Express in 1976, feeling betrayed and lost. In meeting the marauders and being helped by Sirius's younger brother, she decides to remake the future, and hold the adults responsible for her displacement in time, adults who recruit children for war, accountable to clean up their own damn mess.
