Besides, I've spent so much of my life not allowed to have my own place, I'm not ready to give that up.” The team nodded in silent agreement, the way they did any time Bucky, or anyone else for that matter, used their past trauma as a justification for their actions. The mutual understanding between them about their shared history had always been one of the best things about the team. Which is why Bucky felt a little guilt knowing he was using and manipulating their trust to try to prevent them from prying more information. But by the time he was out of the tower and on his bike back to Brooklyn, the guilt had already faded. After all, the lie was worth it if it meant being with Sam.
Or Sam and Bucky are in a secret relationship after the events of the Thunderbolts*.

“Are you gonna wash your hair or not?” Jayce lets out, looking at him now. He’s a bit taken aback, blinking up at him. He nods slightly, glancing down at the phone in his hands. “When?” He doesn’t care to hide the annoyance in his own expression. “I’m going to.”
Jayce looks even more annoyed than he himself feels. Staring at him like it’ll make the problem go away. His expression softens slightly, sitting down on Viktor’s bed. “Let me do it for you then.” He can immediately feel his face heat up - because the idea is enticing. They’re friends, sort of close but not really. This isn’t something you just ask.
