There's a Mage that spends the winters just outside of Hawkinstown, capital of the Province of Harrington in the League of the Lakes. They say she's lived there since the Fall. That when the old world came crashing down, she appeared and fought the monsters that came to tear the town apart. They say she was the first Mage, the first to wield the powers of the Void. They say she is not bound by a single type of manipulation; that she can wield it to do all manner of wonders. They say she spends most of her time travelling around the continent, helping those in need. And that she remains frozen in time, trapped in the moment her heart broke in two. That she looks not a day over 21.
They also say she measures time in a rather strange way. In neither the Church Style. Or to mark the Fall.

Summary
The sight of Mike in the hospital bed is enough to break down the walls she had been grasping on to since Max had first told her he had been hurt. His cheeks are bruised, with gashes across his temples and dried blood smeared on his face. El’s knees buckle beneath her just as she reaches the chair next to his hospital bed. She takes his hand in hers and presses her forehead against his palm and sobs.
I started writing a hurt/comfort hospital fic and i ended up with a nearly 9k marriage of convenience fic. Not sure how that happened, but I'm pretty proud of it.
