It is a strange thing, to wake inside the life you once only dreamed of. No more borrowed breath. No more body waiting under glass and wire. Only the forest, and the truth of flesh made permanent.
She had wanted this once. Now she has it. Daughter of the Omatikaya. Healer. Sister. A woman remade by Eywa, by grief, by devotion, and by the terrifying mercy of being given exactly what she once begged for. But a second life is still a life. It must be learned. Root by root. Through the ache of a new body, the weight of old memories, the laughter of children beneath the forest canopy, and the slow, dangerous tenderness of a warrior who looks at her as though she is the first light after years of war.
Peace does not come easily to a world that has already bled. Love does not erase what came before. And belonging, can become the most dangerous thing of all. For when old enemies return, when secrets sharpen beneath silence, and when forgotten children wake in the shadow of another war, the life she chose will no longer be something she can simply live.

Summary
This is to be a series of one-shots inspired by my main story, Of Leaves and Waves, exploring the question: "What if the female OC had truly fallen in love with Glorfindel?" This series begins at Chapter 20 of the main story, I have died for love. Reading the original 19 chapters first is recommended, though it is a Legolas/OC.
👉 Brief summary:
At the end of the Second Age, as Sauron's shadow grew, the Elven realms secured peace through alliance: Círdan the Shipwright pledged his daughter, Meríliel, to Glorfindel. It was a political match, not a choice of the heart.
Meríliel's loyalty was already divided. Her bond with Prince Legolas had been forged through choice, war, and consequence. Yet she swore an oath of allegiance to Glorfindel nonetheless, and they have lived as lord and lady, though he has always hesitated to fully bind their fates under such rushed circumstances.
Now, after Glorfindel's return from Mordor in the Third Age, he finds himself, at last, home.
