Summary
Avid hated everything about Owen.
He hated how he always appeared out of nowhere, how he moved silently through the woods like he belonged there, how he looked far younger than his age, looked younger than even Avid himself. He hated his casual demeanor, how he seemed to get along with their neighbors so well, how every movement he made seemed deliberately calculated for success. He hated that his long fingers, wrapped in bandages, were rough against his skin, his searching gaze left him feeling bare before the other man, and how the tips of his teeth poked out from the corner of his mouth when he grinned.
Most of all, though, Avid hated how all it took was one word from Owen to get him to cave.

In the mess of clashing metal and screams coming from the Lizalfos, it was difficult to hear much else. Wild was lucky he was off to the side, mid-arrow notch when he heard the cry.

Summary
Another deep breath. His throat started to burn more intensely but he pushed the feeling down. It was stupid that his body wanted to be fed again already, after all, Dream had allowed him an extra meal before he went off to ensure he wouldn’t faint during the mission. It was very considerate of him and Tommy was thankful. He didn’t know if he’d made it through the night otherwise. The stress seemed to gnaw away at his reserves even more than usual. (Not that he’d much of those, anyway – his new body seemed to demand blood all the fucking time. It was disgusting. He really was a monster.)
OR
Tommy’s life hasn’t been that great recently with forcefully being turned into a vampire and being just barely kept alive by the hunters. And it’ll come to a quick end if he doesn’t prove to them that he can be useful. The annual Solstice ball at the Syndicate coven’s manor seems to be his chance to prove his worth: He needs to gather information about vampires there; information that can help the hunters bring them down. Easy, right?

Being sent to the Rito in the dead of winter is a punishment. Link is ostensibly relieving the longtime Hylian military attaché, so this could be construed a promotion—but for the timing.
Another birthday has come and gone, and still he has not presented. And even though everyone expects him to be appointed the Princess’s knight, one thing is for sure—the King will never select anyone but an alpha. And he certainly won’t trust his only child with someone who hasn’t even presented yet. Maybe it would be different if Link had the sword that seals the darkness, but he doesn’t.

Summary
Link thinks his job is pretty easy. All he has to do is cook dinner and pretend to be someone's husband only one night a week. The pay is incredible and the perks are appealing. So he doesn't question who Mr. G really is, never asks why he looks so lonely when they part ways at the end of the night, never wonders why making the man smile and laugh has Link seeing his job in hues of pink.
It doesn't matter to Link if Mr. G is dangerous, he's just playing house. Right?

or oneshot stories that are mostly an excuse to write odysseus internally (and externally tbh) monologuing about how much he loves his son and his wife. it’s several love letters in a trench coat.
