Watching Steve sit alone that first day- even with his ex and her new squeeze crowding his table- former King of Hawkins High with his bruised up face and puppy dog eyes, and apparently, knight in shining armor tendencies, Eddie never stood a chance.
It's Jeff, in the end, that finally badgers Eddie enough to let Steve be dragged over to their table- into Hellfire, and Dungeons & Dragons, and hopefully right into Eddie's arms- after Steve intervenes to stop Jeff being harrassed in the halls.
Now Eddie just needs to figure out what he's going to do with all of it.
Aka a hellfire adopts Steve fic, because give the boy some friends (and a boyfriend).

"Master Dick?" Alfred whispered, the old man's voice surprised both him and Midnighter. Dick turned and Alfred's face paled as he saw the scars.
Dick bit his lip and looked to Damian's headstone. "Hey Alfie."
"My boy, are you-" Alfred knelt near him, a hand ghosting over Dick's shoulder. In their family, people rarely stayed dead. Midnighter mumbled something, and left them alone. He wrapped his arms around himself and looked downward.
"Don't… don't tell anyone?" Alfred nodded solemnly, wrapping his arms around his grandson. Dick half smiled and leaned against him. "I was undercover. I… I didn't want to be…"
