Mondstadt, the city of freedom, with the huge windmills reaching the sky, bards singing about old fantastic tales, where windwheel asters adorn each house and building, full of infinite possibilities and breathtaking sights, definitely one of the best places to live in the whole Teyvat, sure, when it's not under attack.
It wasn't on your to-do list for the day to be kidnapped, obviously, but when the Fatui soldiers trapped you on your way back to Mondstadt, there wasn't much more to do than fight back, or at least try to do so.
