It has been five years since the battle of Priestella. The last surviving Sin Archbishops of the Witch Cult, those of Gluttony, have been cut down. What should be a time of celebration for the Kingdom of Lugunica has instead become a time of tragedy and recriminations, as with the Gluttony siblings' deaths, the name of Subaru Natsuki, falsely accused as the Archbishop of Pride, has been returned. Consumed by grief and madness, Queen Emilia has ordered the knights of Lugunica to search for Subaru and return him to her side.

In a grand spectacle the Witch of Envy finally realizes her love isn’t enough. After 93 extra loops, 4 of which ended with him labeled as the Sin Archbishop of Pride and tortured by those he held close, Subaru finally kills Gluttony and prevents his name from getting eaten. Hooray! How did he do that you may ask? Well, Satella isn’t cruel enough to update his checkpoints when he’s being tortured! Even she knows that there is a time and a place for her to express her love! She’s not that crazy! Though once the Witch noticed her dearly beloved was truly suffering, she decided that maybe she could try and include a few of his friends in her love! And give him a way to share his old memories. Then he could go back to being the boy she loves! Though her timing couldn’t be more perfect! With that our Stage is set! Now time to drawn the curtains and roll out the cast!
