Petra and Gale are more than a little clumsy in the ways that they love, both having their own significant dry spell when it comes to romance and sexual desires. 'How on brand for him', you thought bitterly.
Finally, you managed to shake yourself out of your strange shock and staggered to your feet, his journal still in your hands. You let your eyes travel up his form, gratefully noting that he seemed unharmed.
His eyes were still on the journal.

The bird doth protest too much. It’s impossible to miss the giddy, almost crazed look in those pretty avian eyes of his as they lock onto you like prey. You can see the exhilaration take him over as he sparks alive, well and truly in his element, hyper-focused in his pursuit to catch you before you splatter against the pavement.
He loves this. He loves you. He's just too chicken-shit to say it outright—or he would be, if you didn't do something about it.
