After training on the ice for so many years, Jimmy has had his fair share of rather disgusting experiences. He’s come home covered in dirt and grime, had to scrub clumped up glitter off of his face, washed his mouth out with soap after Hector gave him a semen-laced cupcake, and smeared blood all over the place while fighting with Chazz— though that was more in the past nowadays, but it was still something he thought about a lot.
After so many years of forgetting his little fetish, it was about time it came back, dragging him to commit one of the worst offenses he could think of; stealing-- well, not quite stealing. He was going to give it back, but stealing nonetheless.Read the tags! Don't like it, don't read it.

Troy Barrett has always been sensitive, it's something his father tried and failed to beat out of him. It was engrained into his very bones, but he'd learnt to push it down to only crack once alone. He laughed with the jokes, joined Dallas's name calling, or starting fights, and trained hard.
He'd done everything he could to keep his job stable in his team. And he'd been traded, to fucking Ottawa after making the dumb decision to tell Coach that Dallas was being weird. He could have handled it, but he had to go and tell.
Ilya Rozanov was an arsehole, but a carefully curated one. He didn't act like Barrett did, he was careful, and now said arsehole was going to be part of their team.

Oh, he’s not gonna like this, but he knows how to let Shane know that Hayden will be welcoming to Lily. He grabs his laptop off the coffee table and looks up transgender athletes. If he can subtly drop some facts here and there, stuff that’ll stick in Hollzy’s insane memory for anything sports-related, Shane will start opening up about Lily before he even realizes he’s doing it. Hayden will—what’s it called?—classically condition him. Fucking take that, Pavlov.
Hayden sees a picture he shouldn’t have seen, comes to some interesting but well-meaning conclusions, and maybe learns some stuff about himself along the way.
Or, according to Mx_Cryptid on Ch. 4, "Hayden allied too close to the sun and cracked [his] own egg. Poor baby."

“Yes, that.” he hummed, “Was all nonsense. You’re good at what you do.”
Shane smiles, then. “I’m glad you think so.”
“Not as good as me, obviously.” Ilya added, and Shane rolled his eyes. “Can’t be too nice to you, can I?”
“Guess not.”

Shane Hollander has a chronic pain condition and Ilya Rozanov is deaf. This inevitably means that they're going to be compared to one another, and this is only made worse when they're drafted to rival teams The Montreal Metros and The Boston Bears as first and second pick.
It was rare enough that mainstream sports received one disabled player but two? Drafted during the same season and always one-upping each other?
Well, it was unheard of.
