From across the bullpen, Shawn couldn’t help but notice the way that his fingers moved so adeptly to reload his weapon, quickly returning it to its leather holster with a minor flourish before sitting despite the fact that no one seemed to be paying him any sort of mind. Shawn watched carefully as Lassiter moved to tap mindlessly at his desk, his fingers busy creating quiet little rhythms while his mind remained firmly on the work before him.
Shawn couldn’t help but wonder what other sorts of things those hands could do.

Summary
“Don’t,” Jim says, and his voice is raspy with overuse or dehydration, but determined. “Nobody gives them anything. Commander Spock has the conn. Acting captain if necessary. If it’s not safe to come get me, you fucking leave me. That’s an order.”
The bridge stirs with unease. In the recording, someone steps forward to ram the hilt of a curved baton into the captain’s stomach, making him grunt and attempt to curl in on himself. When he raises his head again, his eyes remain clear. He smirks.
“Order stands. Show them how strong my crew is.”
