Will trails off, stopping himself, as if it just occurred to him that he could be wrong about the way he planned to answer that sentence. Mike isn't sure how he'd answer it either.
High, he thinks. Will is gay and I am high.

“I figured it out!” Mikael says with a grin. “The solution to our problem!”
“What is it?” Wil asks, sitting up with a smile.
“We just need to go back in time!” Mikael smiles as if everything’s been explained.
Wil’s jaw slacks, blinking slowly. “...Mikael, sweetest,” Wil laughs, the sound aligning with mortification rather than joy, “do you hear yourself? Are you ridiculous?”
Mikael’s eyes flash with a slight twinge of hurt, smile faltering. “What? What—no, no I’m not.” He takes Wil’s hands in his own, squeezing them tightly as his eyes beg Wil’s to listen. “Is it not perfect? I came up with a solution on my own!”
“As much as I admire that,” Wil releases one hand to ruffle Mikael’s dark curls, “that sounds impossible. We can’t just turn back time.”
“We don’t need to. We need to bring it to the present,” Mikael says.
or in which will and mike's guardian angels are annoyed with the state of their strained friendship, so they decide to mess around with the laws of time — and hope they don't get caught for their mischief.

“No!” Mike exclaimed, “Holly, I’m not marrying him!”
“Why?” Holly whined, as Mike tried to walk away. She threw both arms around his legs and sank to the floor, sitting on his feet so that it was extremely difficult to walk.
“Because,” said Mike, trying to free himself from her grip by shaking his legs. She only held on tighter.
“But he’s so amazing,” said Holly, as Mike shuffled his feet slowly when he realised she would not be relinquishing her hold on him anytime soon. He dragged her into the hallway so he could put on his coat. “He’s the best, most incrediblest, most fantastic babysitter in the whole world! You should marry him!”
Or; Will Byers, well-known as an outcasted freak at Hawkins High, is Holly Wheeler’s babysitter, and perhaps the loveliest person Mike has ever met.

Nearly two years after graduating from Hawkins High, Will Byers had what he’d always wanted. Control. He’s in charge of his life day in and day out.
Mike can’t sleep, write, or do much of anything, really.
Mike didn’t show up to the airport last summer, and Will didn’t come back to Indiana - until he found himself on the Wheelers’ doorstep at Christmas.
In which Mike and Will haven’t spoken in over a year, and neither of them quite know how they ended up on a road trip back to California as roommates.
Or, with a little bravery, some interference from friends old and new, and a whole lot of butter, Mike and Will might actually stand a chance of being honest with each other and getting what they want.
