Summary
After the mountain, Jaskier decides to grant Geralt his “life blessing” and dies. Well, he doesn’t die per say, he masterfully fakes his death. The second purpose is, of course, to escape the track from Nilfgaard that wants to know where Geralt and Ciri are. But as months flows by, a new force arises from the North. The witchers create a new empire on the Continent behind the banner of the White Wolf.
All is, kind of, good until someone recognize him as being Jaskier, the White Wolf’s bard from before the warlord rises and decides to bait Geralt into a peace treaty using him. The bard is absolutely sure it is not going to work because Geralt doesn’t care, the mind behind the plot is sure it is going to work and it does work. It works really - really - well. Just, not in the way, they though it would.Series

Jaskier held his hands up in front of him. “Alright, Geralt, alright! I’m not a wizard!”
“Then what—”
“I’m an emotional manipulator!”
There was a pause. Geralt stared at Jaskier, until Jaskier blushed. “Well, I mean— I mean I have a power…this ability. I am able, to, um, sense emotions.”
Another pause. “You can sense emotions,” Geralt repeated, nonplussed.
“Yes! I can sort of, feel them. In the air, you know,” Jaskier flapped his arms around. “And then, occasionally, with great effort, I can…influence them.”

Summary
There’s a song in Jaskier’s repertoire he’s played only twice before. It’s a song he thinks he was born with, a song burrowed deep in his bones.
It’s a lullaby… of sorts.
It’s a song he vowed never to sing again once he realized its power.
Until now, when singing it or not might mean the difference between life or death for him, Geralt, the Lion Cub of Cintra, and everyone else he cares about.
