Lifestream. It stretches through time, from the past to the present, connecting to the future, continuous. Changes in any part reverberate throughout the fabrics of time itself, events rearranged, fates changed.
After the Modeoheim incident, sixteen-year-old Cloud Strife has a chance encounter with Sephiroth and finds himself gradually growing close to the famous hero. Until one night, Cloud sees something he wasn’t meant to see and ends up in a spot of trouble – of the lethal kind.
The Planet’s future now compromised, the Lifestream intervenes to reintroduce the one variable that has made all the difference before: Cloud Strife himself.
Even if it means having to grab one from the future.
Rated Mature. This is a time-travel fix-it story set in the Crisis Core era, so it’s canon-divergent with spoiler alert for pretty much the entire compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Underage warning is for Cloud, because technically he is supposed to be sixteen even if he is older inside.

Images of the future solidified in Sephiroth’s mind: he saw a youth who inherited his height and Cloud’s blonde hair. No, instead, it was girl with a furrowed brow and uninterested fighting style. Or maybe it was a boy who had narrow green eyes and a penchant for wielding materia. Each possibility loomed just out-of-reach. What could Sephiroth, of all people, teach someone about being alive? He was only faking it himself. All his progeny’s goodness would come from Cloud. Sephiroth would only supply its genetic code.
Sephiroth (imposing, weak, monstrous, humble) falls pregnant. Cloud (strange, familiar, distant, possessive) takes responsibility. Threatened by Shinra’s exploitation, they run away together and make an attempt at normalcy.
They can never truly escape where they came from—but they’re going to try anyway. This results in complications.

When four souls entered the Lifestream Aerith saw the three fragments and the soul of her dear friend and knew something had to be done. The remnants of Sephiroth were incomplete souls however each had the makings to be something more if that just had more time. Time she could give them, to be something more than that of fragments. However, if she sent them alone, they would break, or break the world really. Luckily her good friend Cloud was right there and he always had problems saying no when someone needed help. Maybe together he could change and help more than just the three if given the chance. If he could get past the Turks, Shinra, and Soldiers wanting to know why there were three children running around that looked like mini versions of the General Sephiroth and their keeper a blond man who just might be stronger.

Summary

He comes across experiments of Hojo's and has to battle his own emotions and morals while making decisions that will keep Shinra off his back and keep his sanity at the same time. One of the many specimens is what appears to be simply a traumatized feral human woman. Her will to survive touches Sephiroth's heart and he wants to help her with all he can. Will he stand by his own senses and do the right thing? Or will he fall from grace and restart the cycle?
