Summary
Clearing his throat, Santos snapped out her daze so hard she nearly fell off the couch.
“Jesus,” she muttered, dragging a hand to her face - evidently trying to wipe any mist out of her eyes before continuing. “You can’t just appear like that.”
“You left the light on,” Whitaker spoke as he tentatively walked toward her, finally taking a look at her from the front.
Her eyes were red-rimmed and puffy, lines that didn’t usually exist on her forehead stuck out easily on her pale skin as her lip subtly quivered back and forth.
Santos was lively and loud.
This person wearing his room-mate's skin looked drained and weary.
“Couldn’t sleep?” Whitaker asked as he leaned against the coffee table.

Anniversary of Santos's best friend's death rolls around but she's not alone this time.

Summary
Esta muerto.
Irremediablemente muerto.
Frio y congelado.

Summary
“I wish I could just… be forgiven.”
“You can be.” It sounds so easy, from Dennis’s lips. Robby knows better.
“I can’t, Whitaker,” Robby asserts, wishing he could show Dennis just how impossible it was. Robby had tried everything. He’d performed teshuvah in every way he’d learned how; reciting Selichot until his voice gave out, fasting for days on end, visiting the river and chucking breadcrumbs into the murky depths like there was enough water on earth to wash his mistakes away.
“Yes, you can.”
OR
Upon going to Robby's house to pick up his spare key and bit the other man farewell for his sabbatical, Dennis finds Robby in an emotionally vulnerable state. Thankfully for them both, some seminary lessons actually do pay off.EDITED to fit season 2 episode 10

Summary
Dennis has been hopelessly ogling the married attendings for the past ten months; Hell, since he saw them running the ED on the day of Pittfest. So when Dr. Abbot and Dr. Robby ask Dennis to cover a few shifts for them, he holds no hesitation to comply. Exhausted and run down after taking on the additional shifts, Dennis doesn't put up the effort he knows he should in assuring Jack that he doesn't need to thank him. After an unfortunate incident involving a locker, Jack insists on having Dennis over for dinner with him and Michael as a thank you. At Jack's insistence Dennis obliges. Little does he know, steps taken, cannot be undone. What begins as a simple dinner of gratitude pulls Dennis out of the hospital's fluorescent safety and into a house built on ancient loyalties and iron-clad secrets. As the shadows of the city's mob tensions lengthen over their table, Dennis realizes that some invitations are vows, and some orbits are impossible to escape. In a world of blood and iron, he must decide if he is willing to follow them into the dark, where the only thing more dangerous than the life they lead is the love they offer.

Summary
“Come home,” Dennis says, like he even has any right to ask it.
“Why?” Robby’s voice cracks through the phone speaker. It sounds so tiny. So soft. So far away. “What's going on?”

Then Robby and Abbot get punished, shifts are swapped, and suddenly Dennis is back to work under his former mentor.
Old feelings don’t stay buried for long. Especially when it turns out Robby isn’t nearly as unaffected as Dennis thought...

Summary
Dennis Whitaker has watched the man he loves die for centuries.
From Kingdoms to Battlefields to Plagues to Wars and now to Hospitals.
These different lives always have the same ending. Death and heartbreak. Sadly, only Dennis remembers their lives together, and Robby never does. So when Dennis starts his first shift as an ER intern, he meets the attending physician running the floor, Dr. Robinovitch.
Robby.
The man Dennis has loved in every lifetime. And this time, Dennis is terrified that history is about to repeat itself, or is it?****
“I love you,” Dennis whispered.
“I know, you do,” he breathed.” And so do I.” His fingers weakly squeezed Dennis’s hand.

Summary
Dr. Adamson wasn't the only thing Covid took from Dr. Robby. He ended up developing a condition that would effect him for the rest of his life. Like losing his mentor wasn't enough it had to take a normal working nervous system from him as well. Years later he's been able to keep it under wraps but it seemed a certain medical student was going to put the pieces together soon.
---
It was no secret that Dennis admired his attending. Was it from a far? Maybe not to far but ever since that day in pedes he worried about the guy. Which was how he noticed that Robby was taking more breaks than normal today and for some reason Dr. Abbot kept throwing salt packets at him.

Summary
When Robby set his hands on Dennis’ shoulders, spun him around, accompanied by an “ah ah ah”, he couldn’t help but notice how Dennis froze up and clung onto every word that Robby offered him, how quickly he listened and responded, wording every detail of the case. And of course, the older man had to bid him with praises– because that's what a good mentor does. He bends slightly to Whitaker’s ear, with his hands digging into his muscular shoulders, “Good work, Whitaker, now take a break, you deserve it.”

Summary
Aside from Dr. Collins, Dr. Robby has never had any romantic feelings for anyone at PTMC, and certainly not feelings that interfered in the workplace.
So when Dana points out his touchy behavior towards student doctor Dennis Whitaker over the past few months, Robby becomes acutely aware of his every move towards the man.
Robby isn’t gay. Or at least he doesn’t think he is—but when he looks into those sad blue eyes, he can’t help but feel butterflies rise into his chest. When he sees those arms, toned from months of performing CPR and lifting patients, he can’t help the inevitable feeling of blood rushing south, even at his age.
Maybe he should rethink some things.

Summary
He shouldn’t report this. He’s a new resident, a mere intern, one who just got his doctor badge, and just about every person in here is more qualified to make this judgement call. But Dr. Robby came to him, to him, offering him his house after a long talk about proper boundaries.
He can’t ignore it.
Or: With Robby unraveling on his final day before his sabbatical, Dennis voices his suspicions to Abbot. The fallout isn't quite what he expects.

Summary
Dr. Robby is too old for this. Too old to be losing sleep over a resident.
It starts slowly. Favours and conversation. Things that last longer than they should.
He tells himself it isn’t anything. Just a temporary lapse in judgment. But the way Dennis looks at him makes everything harder.
And Robby, who has spent his entire life being careful, realizes he may have already passed the line of no return.
Slowburn, the chapters get longer as we go, cuz I get greedy
