Okay, we’re doing this I guess.
I’m sure you’ve heard stories-rumours-of how I got my powers and why I decided to do what I do, so lets clear it up.
Life had been hell with my absent mother and drunk father.
I was a loner. It was just the way it was, the way I liked it. During a field-trip to Oscorp was when it happened, when I got bit.
Suddenly, the loner from high-school can do everything a spider can. It was life-changing, and yet it was still the same. It got to a point where things had gotten far enough and I made the decision, I ran away.
But it wasn’t easy, cops brought me back but when they saw my family, they called the foster home. I never saw them again after that, but the foster home wasn’t any better. So I decided to run away again.
So that’s why I do what I do, I know I’m not the only one suffering and I know I won’t be the last, but with these powers I give something to the world that I never had. Protection.
Now, 3 years later, I got into NYU for engineering. I plan to still do what I’ve always done, be alone and not form any sort of connection with anyone.

There is nothing particularly special about the moment, Peter is just about to pull his shirt over his head when he glances towards the mirror on the back of his bedroom door and notices something strange near his shoulder. He stops what he is doing, dropping the shirt on the floor before moving closer to the mirror.
Peter freezes, his eyes locked on the letters that sit cleanly below his collar bone like they had been carefully written in black ink. He let his fingers brush over them like it might have been an accident, the ink doesn’t smear or fade it stays exactly as it is.

After a long and brutal career as Spider-Man, Peter Parker has hit rock bottom. His old universe is gone, his family is gone, and he's abandoned in an alternate timeline where he'd never been born. On the streets and left as a living ghost, he hasn't given up on being Spider-Man. He hasn't given up on other people. He's only given up on himself, and that's still a tragedy. But even at his lowest, he's always what every hero aspires to be. It doesn't hurt that both Dr. Doom and the Incredible Hulk are stuck in the same mess.
A slow burn superhero story about Peter Parker starting from the lowest point I can possibly put him in, and battling his way to the very top. This is going to be a long one, and while it starts off in a sad place, the overall direction will always be to somewhere more positive. There will be setbacks. Not everything will work out. But my promise is that he'll always be in a better place than where he started.
