Growing up in Neptune, Veronica Mars thought she had everything. She had loving parents, was top of her class at the elite high school she attended and three best friends she adored. Most of all, she felt safe. Until one day when tragedy ripped through her world and she lost everything.
Veronica is being forced to attend The Castle and face her former friends, who believe she committed the ultimate betrayal, all while navigating the cruel divide that splits Neptune in two: the 09ers who hoard every luxury and advantage, and everyone else left with the scraps.
This is a complete AU blending dystopian magical worlds, with some inspiration from Fourth Wing, but with my own twists.
The story is dark in places. Consider yourself warned.

Logan decides to play matchmaker for Dick and Mac using a school-sponsored scavenger hunt to get them to spend time together. Secrets end up being revealed when a jealous young woman decides that the way to win her chosen one's heart is via a kidnapping. Everyone works together to retrieve Mac, including both sets of her parents. Wallace gets to punch someone's lights out, and Weevil ends up in a dress, the things he does for Vee! Happily ever after is a long winding road, but in the end LoVe prevails and MaDi proves that for Dick, hard work isn't so hard when it gets him who he wants.

Summary
Dick gets tired of Logan being on the Veronica Mars roller coaster, so he decides to help him by getting the whole Neptune group involved. They kidnap Veronica, and unfortunately for her, Mac. They end up snowed in, where they end up with no choice but to deal with one another. Dick has a secret that he has only told to Keith Mars, which is what led him to decide to do this. Dick plays Santa Claus, and instead of pink ponies, he decides that hippos, real reindeer, drummers drumming, silver bells, and Santa getting kissed under the mistletoe are only some of the antics they end up getting up to. And he really, really wants to know why mommy is cheating with Santa and how the kid thinks that Santa can give him two front teeth, and decides that Madonna is greedy with her Christmas list, and Mac gets a headache listening to him. Veronica is annoyed with Logan, who is insisting that they read a Christmas Carol and Twas the Night Before Christmas. Who knows if any of them are going to make it back to Neptune as the snow keeps piling up as they are unaware that the Grinch is desperate to get to the cabin they are staying in.

Sexy time ensues, but outside of that, nothing develops. Fast forward to December 31st, 2014 and they meet up again at the same bar, on purpose this time. More sexy times ensue. That leads to more encounters, but they are too stubborn to realize that there's more to their relationship than just a "naked friendship." You can't always see what's right in front of your eyes the whole time.

The first chapter is "present time," present being 2009, on the third anniversary of Cassidy's suicide. Dick's POV will cover the present time, detailing what is going on with Mac's injuries, dealing with LoVe reuniting drama, learning more about Mac's life, etc. This is very much AU.
