Alex Goodwin, formerly known as Jonathan Pine, has caused a MI6-wide search after he runs an unauthorised mission, which takes him to a hotel in Spain.
Predictably, the hotel explodes, leaving his location even more compromised.
Q cares about Goodwin - who else would he buy breakfast with after not sleeping for thirty-six consecutive hours? - and so joins the search, with the help of our favourite pestering Double-0.

This work sees the completion of my 'Alex Goodwin is...' series, which I wrote during the airing of The Night Manager 2. It has taken me that long to recover from the ending that I didn't get a chance to finish the series, so I have edited and added *more* in this multi-chapter fic.

Summary
For a moment, Jonathan's sight clears, and he is back in the clearing, on his knees, staring up at the sun that is suddenly there. Wasn’t it just night? Where has all the time gone?
Suddenly, he sees the eagle pass over them, wings spanning majestically, slipping over the sun, casting long shadows on his face, and in that moment Jonathan knows, with absolute certainty, that Teddy is alive, that this eagle is here just to tell him this, that God has taken pity on him and has sent him a sign.
He lets out a startled laugh, elation coursing through him, and then he is falling, darkness taking him before his body even hits the ground.

I did not exactly enjoy the way the second season ended, tbh that is a bit of an understatement. So here is an alternative way things could have gone.
Jonathan is frozen in time. Panic crawling up is neck as the Cabreras open the container. It wasn’t possible, there was no way. The plane had been diverted. It simply couldn’t be. For a brief second a terrible thought crossed his mind: Teddy. Had he misjudged him? Had he trusted too carelessly, because he had wanted their connection to be true. Had he wanted it so badly? Had he dammed himself and this entire operation by trusting a coldblooded killer?
OR: Teddy, Jonathan and Tavo make it out alive but are hurt in the process and have to navigate Columbia on their own. Hiding from Roper until the wounds have healed.

Sets in season 1. A drunken night brings together Jonathan, Roper’s golden boy, and Teddy, the seemingly obedient son. What should have been a one-time mistake refuses to fade. Puzzled by Teddy’s oscillation between guarded politeness and abrasive petulance, Jonathan’s desire to unravel him only deepens. Under Roper’s watchful eye, their unwanted mutual lust inexorably turns into a dangerous, complicated bond.

-He closes in on Jonathan, kissing the man for the first time. He restrains himself as much as he could in his drunkenness. But it is still a somewhat fervent kiss, he couldn’t help but attempt to taste the man’s lips with his tongue.
“Just one night…so we can go back to business as usual.” Teddy grabs his face to preemptively stop him from slipping away. Peppers his face with kisses on his lips, neck, jaw, Adam's apple. All over and chaotic. His kisses are needy and desperate, as if the more his lips claim, the more he can convince Jonathan to surrender.
