It helped that his mind was more advanced than a newborn and realized quite quickly that James Potter, while Lily Evans best friend, was not his father. No, his father was the Apex of Apex Predators, the Demon Wolf, a Destroyer of Worlds, the Alpha of Alphas. His father was none other than Deucalion, the most feared Werewolf Alpha in the world. Perhaps that should have warranted his parents' survival, but it seems there are things destined even in this world. But then his father finds him, and somehow he had never seen the destroyer of worlds blowing raspberries into his stomach or how much worry he seemed to have whenever Harry might trip over himself. Harry thought Death was joking when he said this life was going to have a twist. But looking at his reflection and seeing the brown with hints of red in his hair, along with his cheeks, even with the baby fat, being different than his previous life, Harry knew Death did something. Of course, this was confirmed when upon a random request from his aunt (which Harry was sure was also Death being an intrusive asshole) and finding his mother's diary in the attic he had his answer. James Potter was not his father.
Harry was gonna kill Death if he thought he was going to let Death take this apparent alive parental figure, even if he did have to act a little childish for this new family he was going to throw himself into. It wasn't like he was allowed to be an actual child in his first life.

Harry knew he was different in this life, born with angelic powers, he was envied and despised by many lesser angels. A disgrace for being a half-breed spawn of Death. Not a true angel in their eyes. He can't really remember how it happened, or what angels were involved fully, but he had been chained by his wings at the bottom of one of the oceans, only to be found by a Shadowhunter named Valentine with an agenda. Chained and kept hostage for years, he had no choice but hope for a savior. Tortured and hurt even in his childlike form of 11 years old, the first time he died in his previous life, Harry saw the Seelie's that were hidden. He tried to summon his energy, and while he couldn't save two of the Seelies, he was able to save the third, the youngest out of them all. Now he just hoped that Seelie would be able to help him, rescue him from the man that was trying to kill all the Downworlders.

With his so-called family being charged with abuse and kidnapping as they had no legal documentation to have Harry, Harry was thrust into a new life with his father, Will Graham. An Empath similar to Harry, who saw and thought too much. Who might've been on the spectrum but didn't have an exact term for it. All Harry knew, was that he loved his father with all of his heart. And when they met Hannibal and Abigal, well, their little family felt complete. With Death by his side even in this life, Harry knew he would enjoy this life. Even if that meant eating Human Flesh.

Harry Evans loved his sister Lily. He took being just a few minutes earlier than her very seriously in his role as a brother. Even before they were born, he always made sure his sister and mother were safe. It meant showing off his magic way too early, but he didn't care if it meant his family was safe. Growing up was an experience he never had before and was able to see a different side of Petunia Dursley nee Evans, he adored her nearly as much as his own twin. Attending Hogwarts with his sister (previously mother) was an experience in itself as he finally met his father from his previous life along with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. Now maybe he can stop them from screwing up his and Lily's relationship with their best friend Severus. Of course, being in this time period also meant he could dismantle Voldemort before he really amassed followers, well that was just a side-effect of being born a generation early.

Summary
Harry hated Death's humor. Sure, there were occasional reincarnation cycles he might've been an animal, there were even some where he might've been a female. But he's never been a female animal whose communication skills are limited to that of his own species instead of human dialect. And god does Vic Hoskins ever shut up about using them as military killing machines. If only Owen would let them kill him.
Throw human intelligence and empathy in a raptor body and put them in beta position and suddenly everything goes to chaos.

Summary
Harry was familiar with the story of King Arthur and the sorcerer Merlin. The wizardry world cursed in their name after all and thought of Merlin as one of their gods. So when Harry died and Death came to him to make a request, change the narrative of Merlin and Arthur. Fate has decided to intervene in their story, and by adding Harry, it has changed just one crucial detail. What if Merlin were a female, and her spelling was Merlyn? A small change can have the largest of impacts. And so, Harry entered the world with a crack and a commanding voice, his name different but similar, and upon finding a small babe of Balinor who wasn't breathing, helped her breathe her first breath as a small Merlin bird disguise. He should've gone to find Balinor, but this was his child, and so young and unprotected from the harsh world that would hate her just for existing. No, Harry was exactly where he needed to be. Right beside Merlyn in her entwined fate with Prince Arthur Pendragon.
