“Bullshit,” Mingi blows out. “There is no such thing.”
“Oh, but there is.” Seonghwa smirks. “They say its scales are worth more than diamonds. Say they can cure not only wounds—it digs into scars and unmarks it. It makes the lame walk again. It restores the mutilated. Besides,” he looks up at Mingi, “it heals the mind, too.”
San leans forward. “Then, how do you know about this?”
“Well,” Seonghwa says. “I would like my siren back. It’s only right, if I did all the work, to save my keep.”
_____________

"Do you miss it?" Wooyoung asked, leaning in even closer. "The sea? The adventures and treasure? Why did you come back?"
Seonghwa's heart felt heavy, his fingers rather numb as he looked back over the ocean, a burning sensation in his eyes.
"More than you will ever know," he whispered.
It was said that what you want most in life is what you can't have, and what you can't have is what you already had and lost.
Or : A lonely king tells a young servant stories of the pirate who once taught him what it meant to truly live- their adventures, their love, and the great storm that finally tore them apart. Yet as these stories unfold, the servant begins to wonder if they are really just memories, or if they are a desperate way for the king to keep a lost love alive.
And somewhere beyond the horizons and sky, the king still waits for the pirate to come home.

Seonghwa welcomed the taste of blood, even smiled at the sight of it pooling under his feet, because that meant he was still alive. That meant another day on the front lines protecting the one place that still remained free until the rebellion was successful. That meant there was still a fighting chance, there was still hope that would come with the new dawn as more forces from the government would be sent in.
Only today it did not taste like victory or revenge. The pounding taste of the foul liquid was vile and defeating in the worst way. While Seonghwa knew of the powerful feeling of looking down on his fallen opponent, he wasn’t completely unfamiliar with the feeling of being the one on his knees instead, completely defenseless to take each beating that came without pause.
There was no pride in his soul, not with the taste of his own blood in his mouth.
Or: Welcome to the 47th celebration of The Games.

Summary
Hongjoong and Seonghwa used to roam the seas together, as crewmates. Seonghwa used to be Hongjoong's first mate. A pirate crew called black pirates was the most feared amongst many. They were quite infamous, but that didn't put away any of their glory. Even though they were pirates, they were righteous. Hongjoong wasn't the kind to destroy and kill the weak, he and his crew were actually known for helping those in need, gaining a lot of respect amongst citizens. Though not many believed the stories of black pirates, they also knew how powerful they were. Well, that is to one particular time, where something happened. Noone knows what exactly happened, it was just that after some time, Hongjoong started to be seen without his loyal first mate Seonghwa. This stirred up confusion amongst people.
Has he betrayed him? Did Hongjoong kill him? Many rumours started to spread along the seas, but with no answers. What really happened, well, that is the pirates secret.
