He needn't have worried. The small one was strong.
He sees the human many more times since then. It seems as if the herd doesn't venture out without it. He wonders if that one is the pack-leader. It seems logical, but humans are not always creatures of logic.
He forces back memories of that one, and continues to shadow the herd whenever it ventures out. He makes a habit of waiting in the small grouping of trees near the gate so as not to miss one of their outings. Eventually he learns to distinguish the small one from the others even before it takes to the air, and he feels proud of this accomplishment.
Months later, only hours after the humans had returned behind their walls, everything changes.
(In which Eren is not a human that can turn into a Titan, but a Titan that can turn into a human.)

Summary
It’s not an exaggeration to say that between a tyrannical government, two overpowered, under-socialized teenagers, the sudden influx of foreign royals and his own crippling sense of self-loathing, Roy Mustang has his hands quite full.
That’s not to say he doesn’t need things. He does, very much. A new Führer, preferably himself. A good social worker with a phenomenal therapist in their employ. A diplomatic corps who advise things other than Yes, Sir, my expert opinion is that we should invade, murder everyone and take all their resources. A husband who will hold his hand through the copious therapy for his PTSD and depression.
What he doesn’t need, he notes, is a third wildly overpowered, under-socialized teenager, except this one is, by all accounts, a witch and has his lips sewn together with metal thread.

Summary
Izuku always wanted to be a hero. No matter how often his mother told him that he couldn't be one. He could always try to become an Auror, Inko had told him when he watched another All Might video. Or a Healer, didn't they safe people as well? Just not a hero - not with the Statute of Secrecy stubbornly upheld.
In which Midoriya Inko is a witch and Izuku a wizard and even after 150 years of quirks taking over the world, Izuku still couldn't tell Kacchan that he isn't worthless and that he still could become a hero all on his own.
