When the Hargreeves traveled back to the past, they promised Vanya they’re going to help to help her control her powers, that they won't let Reginald hurt her or lock her away again. Things got better between all of them, and each number grew closer to one another. Klaus only wished that someone promised him that, too, when he had to return to the crypt, when he was haunted by those his siblings killed, when he was dismissed as a junkie and a disappointment. Oh, well. It seems that history will always repeat itself.
