“One moment.” The Angel holds up a finger, popping the door open and looking towards the back of Tommy’s car. He cups a hand to his face. “Boys, get in this fucking car or I’m leaving you behind!”
Tommy twists in his seat, head snapping back to look out his back window and watches as three more men (holy shit, is that the Blade?) come darting towards his car.

His life is peculiar but he wouldn't change a thing. When he gets booked for the big Wayne Halloween party, however, he finds himself getting all tangled up with the Waynes, and the more fortunes he tells, the tighter the snare becomes.or: Tim just wanted to scam Gotham's elite, not end up on the Batfamily's watchlist. Tim twisted out of his assailant's loosened grip and saw - a kid, only a few years older than Tim himself, holding a tire iron in one hand and a backpack in the other. Tim’s backpack. He was thin, but more in a lean way than skin and bones, and he was glaring daggers at the man who had attacked Tim.
The boy swung the tire iron in a circle and stalked closer to the man, who looked oddly intimidated. “Get out,” he said lowly.
“I’m not little,” Tim protested automatically. The boy gave him a flat look. “Give me my bag.” He paused. “Please.”
“You’re a shrimp.” The boy kept the backpack out of reach. “Give me your name.” There was no please, which Tim thought was rude, but he had saved Tim. Ish.
“Tim. And you are?”
The boy raised an eyebrow at him, clearly amused by Tim’s introduction. “Jason. And you still haven’t told me what the hell you’re doing here. You tryin’ to get mugged?”
In which Jason leaves the Batmobile alone in favor of helping the kid getting mugged.

Jason decides to take his chance. “So what’s the deal with him, anyway? People here talk about him like he’s a god.”
To his surprise, Clarisse snorts. “Something like that. Prissy’s an annoying one, that’s for sure. But I can’t deny that he’s powerful.”
“Powerful how?” He finds himself asking, curious. Everyone keeps talking about Percy Jackson, but people have yet to tell him more than that he’s Annabeth’s boyfriend, missing, and a son of Neptune. No, Poseidon. For some reason, the names swirl in his head, jumbled. He jolts out of his thoughts to Clarisse’s sigh of annoyance.
“What is it with all the hero-worship around here?” She mutters under her breath, and then huffs. “At least it wouldn’t go to his head.” She clears her throat, voice finally rising above a whisper. “Control-the-sea powerful. Create-a-storm powerful. Blow-up-a-toilet powerful. Blow-up-a-volcano powerful. That sort of thing.” She shrugs like she hasn’t dropped bombshell after bombshell, and Jason barely has enough presence of mind left to register that his jaw is hanging open. “Right–”
Or, 10 times someone thought Percy was a god, and the one time someone knew he was (or at least something like one).
