Shane is used to feeling fuzzy with Rozanov. Like he’s floating higher, higher, higher. But this - this isn’t that.
Shane isn’t floating, he’s falling. Sinking down, down, down below, into darkness. It feels like there are waves crashing over his head, cold and sharp like needles against his skin, and when he does manage to breach the surface for a moment, he’s met with thick fog and a starless sky. It feels sort of like a concussion, but not. There’s no pain, just…haziness. Just a gaping, empty feeling, right in the centre of his chest.

Ilya hums, playing the card he's been considering for this entire conversation. “We could make more interesting, yes? A bet.”
“A bet,” Shane repeats, eyes flashing. “Like what?”
The reporter cuts in. “What about wearing the other player’s jersey?”
They both turn to her, and Shane says, “Like, the loser wears the winner’s jersey?”
“Maybe at the next game in a couple of months?”
“Is a good idea,” Ilya muses, nudging Shane’s elbow. “You will look better in my jersey than in Montreal jersey.”
Shane makes a low noise, his eyes holding a bit of a spark when he looks back to Ilya. It’s what Ilya was hoping for—the tiniest crack in the mask. He can see a hint of exasperated affection around the corners of Shane’s eyes, a little bit of fire burning just beneath the surface. It sends a thrill down Ilya’s spine, and he wonders if Shane will be snarky when Ilya gets him naked tonight.
“That’s not happening,” Shane replies, shaking his head. “Because you’re not winning.”

Holy shit the way this is so amazing😭❤️🩹 like the absolute care and dedication these two put into each other and the panic felt and putting someone else above yourself i just-🖤🥀 this was just amazing to see the absolute care, fear for Dazai's well being, and kinda just how fare Chuuya's loyalty goes and then to see Dazai's concern and care in turn as he bolted to help Chuuua after getting care himself. Self-sacrificing and total dedication ❣️✨️ from the guy who wants to be human and wants to live to the guy who doesn't feel human and wants to die💔 theu have a special way of caring and looking out for each other, and theres so much in this thats lovely😭🫶🏼

He never planned for not having Regto there to help him through the worst of it, and Rudo wasn't sure what his subconscious would do in order to get the help he needed, but refused to ask for.
