He’d always stood a few inches taller than Harry, but he suddenly seemed exceptionally tall and regal in his baby pink, velvet suit jacket, his smart black trousers and his crisp white shirt and matching white bow tie. His hair, though cut short at the sides and around the back, was longer and coifed back stylishly at the top. Did he… did he find Malfoy attractive?

“Hello, Draco Malfoy,” Dobby said mournfully, turning to look back at Harry and stroke his hair. “We is needing to get Harry Potter into a proper bed.”—
It had been a mistake, but it was easily the worst one of Draco’s life. He might never be able to atone for it, but trying to started with this: keeping an unconscious Harry safe and protected from the outside world at Spinners End. Snape had warned him that after what had happened, Harry might never wake, and that if he did, he wouldn’t be the same. It didn’t matter to Draco though. He would stay till the end, no matter what that end might be.

Before he knew it, Harry had captured his lips in a fervent kiss, which left Draco dumbfounded. After a few moments of stillness, he decided to reciprocate as he moved with the same desperation. Despite the strength of the drink that he had been drinking, he found that kissing Harry was far more intoxicating than any beverage.
Draco knew he should’ve pulled away once he had tasted the burn of the lingering firewhisky on Harry’s tongue, but he didn’t. He selfishly allowed himself to get lost in the pleasure being given to him through the boy he had secretly wanted for years.
Draco found himself manhandled into Harry’s arms, those strong hands holding him tightly. “You taste as good as I imagined, baby.” Harry uttered as they both briefly caught their breaths, staring right into Draco’s eyes.
“Fuck, I’ve always wanted to do this, but I knew Ron would kill me,” confessed Harry after he pulled away to caress Draco’s cheek. “I couldn’t help myself.”
after a drunken tryst with Harry, Draco Malfoy found himself pregnant with the savior’s child months later. too bad Harry seemed to want nothing to do with him, so he made the hard decision of disappearing for good.

Summary
James Potter loved Lily Evans from the moment he knew what it truly was to love anybody. But, in the end, it didn’t matter that James had declared that he would never love anyone else but Lily. Because he still lost her.
One year on from Halloween 1981, James is struggling to raise Harry alone whilst drowning in an impenetrable dark sea of grief, determined to never love again. Because, in his experience, to love, is to lose.
Luckily, Regulus Black knows quite a lot about loving and losing. And drowning, too, considering the fact that he survived the cave in 1979 and faked his death for two years, popping in to give Sirius the fright of his life on Halloween.
And, consequently, showing up just in time for the events that followed. The shattered remnants of people that the war left behind.
Maybe Regulus will be able to show James that it’s okay to extinguish the first love flame, whilst simultaneously giving him the parenting help he is too ashamed to ask for. And, in return, maybe James will manage to convince Regulus that love isn’t something you earn, something that always has a catch.
Maybe they just needed one another all along, to take that step into the daylight.
