Omg girl, so Meyers played for SF and he called Ilya a slur on the ice and Ilya beat him for it but also talked about it in an interview so SF traded Meyers to Toronto which is also a super problematic team where Barrett used to play, so that’s why everyone hates Meyers and Toronto

[video, 20 sec] Clip from the Ottawa - San Francisco game earlier in the season. On the ice, Ilya Rozanov and Justin Meyers are battling for the puck in the corner. Rozanov skates away with it and Meyers yells something after him. Rozanov abruptly turns and drops his gloves. Meyers also drops his gloves. They start fighting and Meyers loses his helmet. Rozanov’s fist connects with his face and there is visible blood splatter. Other players skate up to them, but the Ottawa players each grab a San Francisco player and no one gets involved while Rozanov beats on Meyers until he’s lying on the ice. San Francisco’s number 67 and Ottawa’s number 39 have their arms around each others’ waists and are watching the fight while chatting.
