Chapter Text
Tommy bolted straight up in bed, “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO GET SOME ANSWERS!” He yelled.
“Uh…” Someone said, and Tommy’s head snapped up, his face morphing from angry to surprised.
Wilbur and Techno were standing in the doorway with wide eyes, side-eyeing each other every so often. They were still in their pajamas. Wilbur’s wearing his yellow plaid pants with a long-sleeved shirt, while Techno wears gray sweatpants with a random band t-shirt.
Tommy screamed, pulling the covers over his chest, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE!?!”
“Uh… Dad told us to wake you up…” Techno said, eyes still wide.
“Are you… Good?” Wilbur said, looking at Techno and then back at Tommy.
“Uh yeah… Just a… Weird dream, haha…” The younger said and slowly dropped the covers.
“Okay, well, um… You should probably get up for school…” Wilbur said, slowly backing out of the room, Techno doing the same.
“Will do… haha…” Tommy laughed awkwardly, and Wilbur shut the door.
The boy let out a big breath and slapped a hand onto his face, ‘Ugh, that was so embarrassing…’
Tommy slowly got out of bed with a groan and stretched, raising his arms into the air and then popping his back, ‘I should probably get ready now…’
He walked over to the closet slowly, tiredness still apparent in his steps. That dream really seemed to take a lot out of him. He then opened the drawers, picking out a blue hoodie, jeans, and socks, ‘I hate the texture of jeans, but oh well…’
He stripped himself of his old clothes and began putting on the new ones, a hoodie first, then pants. Lastly, he put his socks on, followed by his shoes.
Tommy stood up and stretched once again, hoping it would wake him up just a bit. He grabbed his bookbag and proceeded to go downstairs.
Phil was leaning against the kitchen counter, drinking coffee. He had his phone out and didn’t seem to notice Tommy.
“Ayup,” Tommy said, waving a hand at the older male.
Phil jumped, and his coffee splashed up in his cup; thankfully, it stayed inside the confinements and didn’t land on him. He was wearing casual clothes, a dark green shirt with loose jeans.
Phil’s head snapped up at Tommy, “HOLY SHIT!” He said, looking at the boy with surprise. Tommy held his hands up with wide eyes. The older man laughed, still bewildered, “Almost gave me a heart attack!”
Tommy laughed as well, “Sorry, sorry.”
Phil quickly recovered and said, “I see you’re ready for school.”
“Yep, are you going to work?” Tommy asked curiously and pointed at the man’s clothes.
“Oh, no. I’m working from home again today,” He said, placing his coffee on the counter.
“You seem to do that a lot,” Tommy walked to the kitchen table. He pulled out a chair and sat down, picking up a green apple from a new bowl that was in the middle of the table, ‘Hmm, wonder who put this here?’
“Yeah, the office doesn’t need me much because it’s all online. Although, they need me sometimes, for the important stuff, that is,” Phil said and took another sip of his coffee, placing it down when he was done.
“What do you even do? If it’s not rude to ask,” Tommy took a bite out of the apple and looked at the man.
“I work at a company that produces games,” Phil smiles. Tommy could tell he was happy about his job, ‘I’m glad he enjoys it. Most people don’t get that kind of opportunity.’
“WOAH! That’s so cool!” The boy sat taller in his chair, interested in what the man was saying.
“It is,” Phil nodded his head with a smirk.
“What kind of stuff do you guys do?” Tommy leaned his arm over the top of the chair.
“Well, we mostly-” Phil said but was cut off by the sounds of quick footsteps.
“DAD! We have to leave now, or we’ll be late!” Wilbur yelled and rushed into the kitchen, Techno close behind.
“Well, we wouldn’t be ‘late’ if you didn’t take hours in the bathroom,” Techno rolled his eyes.
Techno was wearing seemingly normal clothes. He had on black jeans and a loose long-sleeved white shirt. He still had his signature black boots on. Wilbur was wearing jeans, but they were light blue and cuffed. His shirt was yellow and tucked into his pants; of course, he had his beanie on.
Phil looked down at his phone, “Oh shit! We gotta go now!” He said and picked up three bags off the counter, passing each boy one.
“What’s this?” Tommy asked, shaking the bag.
“Lunch!” Phil said quickly, “We gotta go!”
Wilbur and Techno rushed out of the room, Phil quickly behind. Tommy got up from his chair and threw the apple away. He then ran, trying to keep up with the others.
The car ride was as expected; Wilbur turned on loud music, Tommy tried to block it out with his headphones, and Techno was just sitting there on his phone.
Once they pulled up to the school, the three boys said goodbye to Phil, and they all started walking to the front door. Techno was the first to break off and walk to a different door. Wilbur was the second, walking to a group of people. Now Tommy was left alone in the middle of the hallway.
The school was bustling with people. Kids ran throughout the halls, and the teachers yelled after them to stop. He looked around but couldn’t find Ranboo and Tubbo. He decided that texting them would be the next best option. So, he pulled up the group chat.
Tommy: Where the fuck are you guys??
No one responded, and Tommy got nervous, ‘Fuck, what if they don’t want to talk to me anymore? But that doesn’t make any sense. I haven’t done anything, have I?’ Then there was a buzzing sound that came from his phone.
Ranboo: We’re walking to the front entrance now. Are you still there?
Tommy let out a sigh of relief and started texting back.
Tommy: Yeah I am
Tommy poked his head up to see people weirdly staring at him, so he looked back down at his phone.
Tommy: Hurry up it’s awkward and people keep staring at me
Tubbo: Lmao dont worry we’re coming
Tommy sighed in relief when he saw half-and-half hair peeking out from behind some random person. They made it past the crowd, with Tubbo at Ranboo’s side.
Tubbo was wearing a green short-sleeved button-up with a bee pin hooked on, and he had jeans on. Ranboo was wearing a white shirt with a Hawaiian button-up that was hanging loosely. He also had on black leather gloves and black pants.
“BOSS MAN!” Tubbo yells and tackles Tommy.
“PRIME ALMIGHTY!” Tommy yelps and stumbles back, regaining his balance after a moment.
“Tubbo, we talked about tackling people…” Ranboo sighs and pries Tubbo off the other.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ve got big plans today, so shush,” Tubbo glares at the boy.
“What kinda plans,” Tommy laughs with one eyebrow raised.
“Okay, so! I was thinking that since I have to bring your bookbag over, maybe Ranboo and I can also come over!” Tubbo says, bouncing with excitement.
Tommy cringes, “Sorry, I can’t today. I fucking wish, though.”
Tubbo frowns slightly, “Wait, why not?”
“Phil wants to have some big conversation with me because of last night,” Tommy sighs.
“Oh shit,” Tubbo’s eyes went wide.
“That’s what I’m fucking saying,” Tommy groans.
“Do you think you’ll get in trouble?” Ranboo asks, looking slightly worried.
“I’m not sure yet… He didn’t seem upset last night, but who knows?” Tommy shrugs.
“I doubt it’ll be anything bad, so don’t worry, Phil’s a good person,” Tubbo says, smiling.
‘Was Phil a good person?’ Tommy thought, ‘I mean, everyone keeps saying he is, and he’s done nothing to prove that he isn’t, so maybe he is? I’m not sure…’
“Anyway, what happened with you guys last night, besides the stuff you already told me,” Tommy asks.
“Nothing more really happened. Eret and Niki cleaned the majority of the mess up, and of course, Ranboo and I helped, but after that, it was pretty normal. We texted you, then fell asleep,” Tubbo shrugs nonchalantly.
“What about that person sleeping in the closet?” Tommy laughs.
“Oh, Eret sent them home. He acted as if that wasn’t his first time doing it,” Ranboo says with a smile.
“It wasn’t,” Tubbo chuckles fondly, “He’s done that MANY times before. For some reason, people just like sleeping in that closet,” He shrugged.
They kept chatting when suddenly the bell rang, “SHIT!” They all yelled and dashed toward their class. They made it just as the teacher was about to close the door.
Their classes passed by quickly, and that made Tommy anxious. Usually, he would be happy that it was getting closer to the end of school, but not this time. Every hour that passed meant he was closer to going home and closer to the big conversation that Phil wanted to have.
They reached lunchtime, and the boys sat at their usual table. He could hear the table across from them saying things about how the guy named Boomer ate glue when he was a kid, and they kept repeating the phrase, “WE LIKE FORTNITE!” Over and over again. Tommy decided to block them out and instead focus on Ranboo and Tubbo.
“So Tommy,” Tubbo said, hands locked together, which made him look professional, “Ranboo and I were thinking-”
“Oh no…” Tommy said and looked worried.
“And we are planning on getting married in the future,” Tubbo said proudly.
“What- Why?! I mean, good for you, but-” Tommy said, confused, but was quickly cut off.
“NO! Not like that! It’s all platonic! Plus, it’s for tax benefits,” Tubbo said nonchalantly, and Ranboo nodded sharply.
“That’s like tax fraud, innit?!” Tommy let out a loud laugh.
“I don’t know, dude. But it’s a good idea. Just imagine it,” Tubbo put his hand up and waved slowly.
Tommy let out another loud laugh, “Really? And Ranboo agreed to this?” He turned his head to look at the other boy.
“Well, I mean- Why not? Seems like fun,” Ranboo shrugged.
“You guys are crazy…” Tommy ran a hand down his face with a fond smile and rolled his eyes.
Lunch ended quickly after that, and the boys walked to their last class, Ranboo splitting off from them with a wave.
Once they were at the door of the class, Tubbo stopped. Tommy turned around and looked at him with his eyebrows furrowed, “What’s wrong?”
Tubbo was silent for a second, then looked up at Tommy with a frown, “Damien should be back today…”
Tommy looked taken aback, “Oh…”
“Yeah,” Tubbo let out a sad chuckle.
“Well, there’s no need to worry about him,” Tommy said with a smile, “I’m here, and if I need to, I’ll beat the shit outta him again.”
Tubbo laughed and shook his head fondly, “Yeah, I know… Well, let’s go in then,” He said, walking in front of Tommy with determination and into class. They sat at their respective seats, and the chatting behind them stopped. Tubbo didn’t even spare them a glance. Tommy, on the other hand, did. He turned his head around with one eyebrow raised. Damien was staring back at him with wide eyes, he quickly snapped his head back to his friends, and Tommy rolled his eyes. ‘What a dumbass,’ he thought and rested his elbow on the desk, laying his head in the palm of his hand.
The class was boring, and the teacher kept talking about random bullshit that Tommy didn’t give a fuck about. It ended shortly after the students were handed a surprise quiz, Tommy mentally groaning. The teacher also passed out homework, which surprised Tommy since it was the first time he had ever gotten that in this class.
Once the bell rang, Tubbo and Tommy slung on their bookbags and walked out of the room, Damien rushing out before them. The two boys made small talk as they walked to the school entrance.
“Dude, it’s total bullshit! We never get homework in that class,” Tubbo threw his head back and groaned.
Tommy laughed, “Really? Like ever?”
“Okay, well- maybe a few times, but that’s not the point,” Tubbo mumbled, and Tommy rolled his eyes.
They made it outside the school, and Tommy’s stomach dropped when he saw Phil’s car. He had forgotten that they still had to talk.
“You alright?” Tubbo titled his head, concerned curiosity lying on his face.
“Uh-” Tommy looked away from Phil’s car, “Yeah, yeah, I’m good.”
“You sure?” Tubbo pressed on.
“Yeah, just worried about that conversation Phil wants to have,” Tommy scratched the back of his head.
“Dude, seriously, it’s going to be fine. Phil doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. I doubt anything bad is gonna happen,” Tubbo reassured.
“Okay,” Tommy sighed.
“Niki just waved at me to get in the car. See you tomorrow?” Tubbo asked with a smile.
“If I don’t die today,” Tommy mumbled.
“Huh?” Tubbo furrowed his eyebrows.
“Nothing, uh- Yeah, see you tomorrow!” Tommy said and began walking to Phil’s car. He got in on the left-hand side and saw that Wilbur and Techno were already in there. Phil asked everyone if they were ready, and once he got all three answers, he drove off.
Red flag number one, Wilbur wasn’t playing his usual loud music. Number two, Phil didn’t have his annoying smile on. And number three, the whole car was silent and full of tension.
At this point, Tommy felt like he was going to throw up. I mean, who wouldn’t? Tommy was stuck in a car with people he had only known for a short period of time, and now he was going to have some ‘big conversation’ with Phil, who was really fucking nice. But Tommy still hadn’t figured out how far this man’s patients could stretch. What if that was his breaking point? Everything seemed fine last night, but what if that was just a facade?
Tommy kept worrying and worrying about the inevitable when they finally pulled up to the house, his stomach dropped even further, and he didn’t know that was possible.
Phil turned off the car and got out without saying anything. Techno was next, followed by Wil. Tommy summoned all the courage he had and opened the car door.
Tommy walked slowly to the front door, feeling his footsteps reverberate within him. He opened the door and stepped inside.
The first thing he saw was Wilbur on the couch and Phil in front of him. Phil looked up with a smile and said, “I’m going to talk with Wilbur first, then I can talk to you. Is that alright?”
That smile usually comforted Tommy, but this time it sent shivers down his spine, “Oh- Yeah... That’s cool,” He nodded his head sharply, “I’m just going to head to my room,” He said and began walking up the stairs, Phil frowning lightly.
Every footstep he took felt like the ground was crumbling beneath him. He swallowed dryly, finally making it to his room. Tommy shut his door and leaned the back of his head against the cool wood, “Fuck…” He whispered. He ran both hands through his hair and walked numbly to his bed, tossing his backpack to the side.
Tommy felt fucking horrible. That’s an understatement. He felt as if he was about to lose everything. He felt miserable, like everything good he had built up and worked to was about to be torn down. And Tommy didn’t know if he could rebuild it this time.
This wasn’t Tommy. The old Tommy wouldn’t be feeling this way. The old Tommy wouldn’t be feeling down or sad about some stupid conversation that was going to happen. He wouldn’t second guess himself or worry about the people around him and who he was hurting.
This new Tommy worries about shit like this. The new Tommy cares about what people think of him and how his actions will affect others. This Tommy liked being hugged, liked when Phil caressed his face, and liked the name ‘Toms.’
Tommy didn’t know who he was anymore…
And that made him fucking pissed.
How dare this family tear down all of Tommy’s hard work. How dare they tear down his walls. Who do they think they are? They’re not Tommy’s family; they barely even know him! How dare they act and pretend like they care! Like they know what Tommy needs and wants. Fuck them.
They can keep putting on their little act of being a perfect family. Tommy didn’t care anymore. He was fucking done. Done with these overwhelming feelings, done with acting like everything was going to be okay in the end, like some stupid fucking fairy tale.
A knock on his door snapped him out of his thought, “Phil wants to talk to you now,” It was Wilbur.
The boy got up and let out an angry huff of air, glaring at the door.
Tommy was ready for this fucking conversation. He was about to fuck some shit up. He wants to see how far he can push Phil until he finally breaks his facade of being a loving father. Tommy will push and push until he gets there, and he doesn’t care who he hurts anymore. Not even if it’s himself.
Tommy opened his door without sparing a glance at the two boys in the hallway and walked downstairs and into the living room.
Tommy wasn’t sure how long the two stared at each other without talking. It was awkward, to say the least. The older man’s gaze burned into Tommy, and he felt a headache coming on.
Tommy was sitting on the couch while the other man occupied one of the recliners.
“So, Tommy,” Phil finally said, “What happened last night?”
“Nothing happened,” Tommy said bluntly, feeling annoyed while bouncing his leg.
“I’m not mad or anything. I just need you to tell me what exactly happened, and I need to know when you leave the house,” Phil said calmly. Why was the man still acting nice to him? He was the one to sneak out!
Tommy felt a spark of anger, “Why do I need to tell you shit? You’re not my dad,” Hurt flashed through Phil’s eyes.
“I- I know that,” Phil lightly coughed, clearing his throat, “But you live here, and I need to know about stuff like that, mate.”
“And why is that?” Tommy rolled his eyes, not bothering to keep the bitterness out of his tone. The boy was clenching his teeth hard.
“Because I care about you,” Phil added. Tommy just stared at the man. He didn’t believe Phil. It didn’t sound like he was lying, but something about that just felt wrong; it didn’t feel like the truth to Tommy. “Tommy, like I said, I’m not upset. I just need to know about things like that.”
Tommy gave an annoyed chuckle, “Sure, yeah, whatever. I’ll let you know next time,” Rolling his eyes.
“Is something wrong?” Phil said with furrowed eyebrows, confused by how Tommy’s demeanor changed in just a few minutes.
“Is something wrong- Is something fucking wrong?! Are you fucking kidding me?! Yes, Phil!” Tommy spat out his name with as much anger as he could, “Something is wrong! You guys lie and hide shit from me, and then you go back to acting like nothing happened and like you’re some kind of loving family!” Tommy mocked while feeling bewildered.
Phil looked surprised, “We’re not hiding or lying about anything-”
“Oh, Yeah!? Then what happened to Wilbur, huh?! What happened when you came home and he suddenly passed out?!” Tommy leaned forward. He was not about to let Phil play this game with him. The boy was too fucking emotional to let that happen. He’s going to keep digging and digging until he gets something out of the man.
Phil was silent, then he said, “Look, I can’t tell you what happened yet-”
“Everyone keeps fucking saying that! And it’s starting to piss me off! Is it me?! Am I the reason?!” Tommy yelled with a frown.
“No, Tommy-” Phil sighed, “It’s not you-”
“Then who is, huh?! What’s the reason why I’m still being lied to at this very second?!” Tommy was getting real fucking angry.
“Tommy! We’re just trying to protect you because we care about you! We want to keep you safe!” Phil got up out of his chair. His voice was getting louder, almost desperate. It lacked the usual anger that comes when people raise their voices in an argument.
Tommy was a bomb ready to explode, and boy, did Phil just light the match.
“Well, Phil!” Tommy put as much emphasis on the name as he could. “I’m not feeling very safe when people constantly lie to me!” Tommy was angry. Fuck crying. Tommy wanted to scream. “How am I supposed to feel safe when I don’t know shit?!” Tommy felt anger bubbling, burning his throat as he got louder and louder. Fuck, he was so pissed, and his headache was pounding.
“I’m sorry for not making you feel safe-” Phil looked at Tommy with pity, and fuck did that piss him off more. Tommy had to figure out a way to make the man start screaming again. He wanted Phil to TRY and hit him. He wants Phil to do ANYTHING. Tommy will break Phil. He’s sure of it.
“NO! Don’t talk to me like that! With that stupid fucking tone! I am not one of your sons! We are strangers!” Tommy kept screaming random things with a manic bewildered smile on his face.
Phil gave Tommy the same devastating look. Why the FUCK won’t he get pissed back! He just wants the man to do something! Anything!
“TOMMY!” Phil finally raised his volume with dark eyes, cutting Tommy’s screaming off. The boy went to spout something off in response, feeling smug and as if he had won since he finally managed to make Phil scream back at him. Tommy couldn’t speak, though. He felt like he wasn’t allowed to speak, words dying in his throat. Was Phil finally going to do something? Did Tommy finally push him enough?
“Tommy… I know you feel upset right now… And I don’t know if you understand this yet, but I know how you’re feeling, and I’m not going to fucking hit you! I’m yelling because I’m upset that you want me to!” Phil’s yelling was much more docile and mild, eyes still dark.
Those words caught Tommy off guard a lot more than they probably should have. How did he know that’s what Tommy wanted? Why does he even care? Tommy tried to bitch again, attempting to anger the man, but then he felt a wave of something sickeningly sweet. It was like Phil was radiating some kind of energy.
“I am not going to fucking hit you! It’s bad enough that you’re used to it, but you shouldn’t expect it! That’s not fucking okay! You’re a person too!” Phil still looked upset, but it was clear that he ran out of things to say…
And out of all the things someone had shouted at Tommy, out of all the things that came out during or after a fight, whether that be violently physical or verbal… Those words… were not of them.
The sound of the doorbell snapped them out of their heated conversation.
Tommy got up, “I’ll get it,” He muttered with a scowl. He walked over to the door and opened it. Tubbo was standing there with Tommy’s bookbag and a grin that was hiding his concern.
Tommy slapped a smile on, “Hey, Tubbo.”
“Hi, Tommy! I brought your bag,” Tubbo lifted the bag into the air, showing it off as if it were a prize.
Tommy laughed, “Thanks,” He grabbed the bag from the other boy.
“Is the conversation still going on?” The brown-haired boy tilted his head out of fake curiosity.
“Yeah,” Tommy sighed. He knew the other boy must have heard something but he continued as if he didn’t. “Sorry, big man.”
“It’s alright! Well, I’ll leave you guys alone then,” Tubbo said and turned around, walking away slowly, “Text me!” He waved with a knowing smile.
Tommy closed his eyes and shut the door. He walked back to where the stairs were and where Phil could see him.
“I’m going to my room,” Tommy says with a blank face, feeling devoid of emotions.
“Tommy, you’re not in trouble, and I won’t ever hurt you. I just need you to work with me here,” Phil’s face is full of sadness.
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy says. His headache was pounding around his skull.
He finally made it to the top of the stairs and saw Wilbur and Techno standing in the doorway of their rooms with wide eyes as if they had been caught with their hand in a cookie jar.
Tommy let out a huff of air, ‘Bitches.’
Wilbur reached his hand out with a pity-filled smile, “Hey, wanna talk about-” Tommy ignored Wilbur and pushed past him, walking into his room and shutting the door.
He threw the bag in the corner and leaned his head against the cool wood, letting out a breath of relief while locking the door.
‘I should probably unpack everything,’ Tommy thought, slowly dragging himself away from the door. He made it to his bookbag and got onto his knees, unzipping the bag and getting to work. He took out the clothes on the top and threw them into the basket. He almost cried joyfully when he saw his special box, ‘Thank fuck,’ He held the box to his chest and let out a sad huff.
Tommy wanted so badly to do something horrible to himself. He was desperate. But he knew he couldn’t do anything because someone could try and come in at any moment. But fuck was he tempted.
After unpacking and putting everything away, he took a deep breath and stood up, stretching. Tommy pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the time. It was 4 p.m., so he had time to take a short nap. The boy yawned and walked over to the bed, throwing himself onto it while kicking off his shoes.
Tommy cuddled up to the blankets and felt his eyelids grow heavy, finally closing.
The boy tossed and turned in his sleep, waking up occasionally. Eventually, he got so aggravated with this routine that he stopped trying.
He sat up in bed and let a sharp, angry puff out. Tommy wondered what time it was and checked his phone, ‘Worst four hours of sleep ever.’ He was surprised that it was already 8 p.m., but he was more angry than surprised that his sleep didn’t turn out how he wanted it to.
Tommy’s eyes drifted over to his bookbag while rubbing his tired eyes, ‘Am I forgetting something?’ He thought, then gasped, “Shit, I have homework!” Tommy hurried to get out of bed and grabbed his school bag, unzipping it and getting out his papers.
It was English homework, so nothing too complicated. Tommy was much better at English than math, so he was happy about this.
He pulled out his desk chair and sat down, placing the work onto the desktop and getting started.
Tommy was more focused on spinning his pencil between his fingers rather than doing his homework. His mind drifted to all that happened that day, and everything came crashing down on him, ‘Why the fuck am I thinking about this now?’ Tommy didn’t know. It made his heart feel weird. It almost hurt.
He thought about the argument and the yelling. A truck filled with emotions hit him, which made a dam break lose, and Tommy couldn’t piece it back together… eventually, he stopped trying.
He let everything flow out like this was his last night on earth. He wanted to scream or ugly cry, but he couldn’t because people would be able to hear him. So he quietly sobbed into his sleeve.
Tommy was tired of holding everything in. He just wanted to scream and let everything out, and he could tell that that day was coming fast. That fight was just a taste of what might happen.
Tears were now falling onto the desk and on his homework, ‘Shit,’ He sniffled and moved the paper away. Tommy sat back in his chair and looked up at the ceiling, trying to stop his crying.
He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and cleared his throat, “Okay…” He whispered, “You can do this.” After Tommy said that, he got back to his homework. He was still feeling very emotional, but he managed to complete it.
Tommy looked at the time on his phone and saw that he had been working for an hour and a half, ‘Shit, I missed dinner…’ He thought, then another idea came into his head, ‘Well, maybe that’s not a bad thing… I don’t need food that much anyway…’
Tommy was resorting back to his old habits once again. He didn’t want to, but at the same time, he did. His old habits were so addicting, and it was peaceful. In a way, it felt like home.
He wanted to stop eating or purge. He wanted to hurt himself… Really badly. So, he settled for the latter.
Tommy got out of the desk chair and made his way to the bed, checking that the door was locked first. He sat down, opened the nightstand drawer, and got out the little box. With a gulp, he opened the case and took out a blade.
With a shaky breath, he lifted up his sleeve to his shoulder and brought the blade to his upper arm. Then he swiped quickly, over and over again.
It hurt. It hurt so bad and stung, but Tommy continued digging into his skin, dragging and pulling the blade across his arm. Tears began flooding his blue eyes, blinking them away quickly.
Tommy felt alone. Is it wrong for him to feel this way? He’s stuck in a house with people he’s only known for a short while. Sure, he has friends, but he also has only known them for a little while. It felt like everyone had left him. He knows that’s not what happened; there are people around the house right now. So why does he feel so alone?
Tommy wiped the tears from his eyes and put the blade back into its box. He then takes the bandages out and wraps his injured arm, ‘I’ll fix it up tomorrow. I wanna sleep.’ He places everything inside and closes the case, sliding it back inside the drawer.
With a yawn, he pulls down his sleeve and falls into bed. He snuggles up in the blanket, letting sleep take him.
