Summary
Summer hoped there was a universe where she knew exactly what to say and how to say it to make her baby brother whole again. Summer hoped that there was a universe where she didn't decide that hating her brother was easier than hating the people she only wanted to love her back—the people that should've loved her back regardless. With all her heart, she wished that hypothetical Summer could just replace her. So she could stand in front of her baby brother who had found hurting himself easier than asking her for help.
Maybe that sister could've reacted better than Summer, who blinked the world into focus and blurted out a flat, "What the fuck?"
