Summary
"Significant pulmonary contusion and multiple rib fractures, and there's very likely a subdural hematoma in there too,” Garcia says grimly, sounding like she's citing it to herself rather than to anyone else in the room. “We’re lucky it's most probably small, but given her fluctuating GCS it still concerns me quite a bit. Also, besides the shard of metal, the bruising and swelling along her abdomen suggests the possibility of internal bleeding as well, but we need to get in the OR to fully evaluate the severity of it."
“Jesus King,” he murmurs. “You were supposed to have the day off.”
or: there's a car accident on mel's day off. she ends up at the pitt anyways.

Summary
Mel had never considered herself a dominant person before. She was self-assured, knew how to push and when to do so, could be plenty assertive under the right circumstances—she's her sister’s caregiver for fucksake, she figured out how to advocate for herself as well somewhere along the line—but dominant wasn’t a word she’d use to describe herself. That didn’t necessarily mean she didn’t want to indulge in the fantasy of it every once in awhile, especially in the bedroom.
Enter Frank Langdon, her new-ish boyfriend (new-ish because, despite what Santos might say, eight months is still relatively new), who she couldn’t help but want to peg.
It wasn’t necessarily a shocking development—she’d heard of it before, seen it done a couple times while scrolling through porn during her college days where everyone but her seemed to be getting some action; it had always seemed appealing, but not like something she’d actively want to pursue.
Frank made her want to pursue it.

“What the fuck, King?” he laughed, not angry in the slightest.
“Oh, did I say something?” she asked primly.
He stared at her, losing his mind a little. “This penis ain’t big enough for the both of us?!”
“It was just a riff on the cowboy theme, Frank,” she consoled, patting his arm, “You’re very well endowed.”
Porny little one-shot. Mel being silly during sex and Frank being very into it.

“Yes. I’m supposed to leave next week, and she set up a double date for her brother and I.” She looks at Frank, her forehead still wrinkled. Frank wants to smooth those lines away with his thumb. “It would be rude to cancel, wouldn’t it?”
“Yeah,” Frank confirms, and Mel’s shoulders drop. Frank feels the words rising up, and he knows he’s going to say them. Mel’s roommate wants to set her up. Mel needs a convenient excuse to get the roommate off her back. “I could go with you.”
“Oh,” Mel says, very quietly. She studies him from beneath her eyelashes, the frames of her glasses. “That’s very kind of you, Frank. I would be happy to have a friend there.”
“No, uh.” Frank stops, swallows thickly. “I could pretend to be your boyfriend. Get you out of those dates.”

Summary
Mel king is completely normal about Frank Langdon. And a little light stalking never harmed anyone.
Right?
***
Or, in which Mel is a little more than obsessed with Langdon.
This is obviously inspired by the videoclip "the boy is mine" by ariana grande. Ish.

Mel and Langdon have always been just friends—until a disastrous plumbing repair, a soaked shirt, and Trinity’s impeccable timing force Mel to admit that Langdon’s charm might be (a little) lethal after all. Slow-ish burn, sarcasm, and shameless flirting ensue

Summary
Dr. Frank Langdon doesn’t get distracted—not during trauma codes, not during twelve-hour shifts, and definitely not by residents. But something about Mel King is unraveling that discipline. She’s quiet, capable, kind, sharp under pressure… and lately, impossible to ignore. He should be focused on protocol, patients, and keeping his hands to himself. But after an incident in an on call decon shower, the line he’s not supposed to cross is starting to look awfully thin.
