Summary
Edward guts him with his eyes, with his glare. He looks distressingly close to tears.
“I’m not letting go of you.” Edward squeezes Roy’s wrist until it hurts. Until Edward’s adrenaline and fear shake down Roy’s skin and sink into his bones. “S-So stop—stop being a dumbass and help me—”
The kid’s voice finally breaks open, raw and wet and scared. It strikes Roy’s core deeper than any bullet. Any knife.
Any impact.
Ed’s glare comes down on him fiercely. Roy is about to earn it.
A mission goes very, very wrong.

Summary
“What the fuck?” Edward demanded, the words barely audible through his clenched teeth, and Roy couldn’t help but agree. He readied himself to snap.
“Rebecca-”
“You are mistaking me for someone else, mister. My name is Edward,” he hissed, golden eyes alight with fury as he glared up at the taller man, balled fists trembling at his sides.
The stranger frowned, confused, still gripping his arm. “I was there for your birth, Becca. I gave you your name. You can’t truly think I wouldn’t recognise my own daughter.”

Summary
There was a reason Fullmetal always wore long clothes.
Roy had never given it any thought. Had never even really noticed it at all, because it was such an unimportant, meaningless detail in the mosaic of interesting and confounding quirks that made up Edward Elric.
But there was a reason, and Roy could have kicked himself for never noticing.
