He shivers at the thought of it. Shivers so hard he walks right up the stairs and lingers at Matt’s door again. And then he walks over and gets in bed with him.

30 days, 30 mattjay sickfics. I'll be following the 2026 sicktember tumblr prompt list, in order. All >500 words, one fic posted each day (AEST). Chapter heading = prompt title.
All stand-alone, ranging from kids all the way through to post-movie. Some sweet, some angsty, some stupid, some sexy, some from longer fics I'm workshopping, some following the prompt more literally than others. Tenses, formats, relationship statuses, ratings etc, will vary. Mostly this is just a fun way to challenge myself and keep bathing in the sweet sweet juices of ntbts.

There's this thing Jay’s heard of. Schroeder's Cat.
From what he remembers, it's that the kid from Peanuts, the piano player, for some reason he has a cat in the body of his piano. Why he has a cat in the piano no one can say. It's one of life’s great mysteries. But it may or may not be dead, is the point. As long as Schroeder plays, and never opens the piano, the cat stays alive. But it also stays dead. It's two things at once.
This is Matt. In the metaphor, if you haven’t caught on already. Or simile, he’s not sure. Always mixes the two up. But the cat is Matt. Just so you know. The cat in Jay’s piano.
