In 2nd grade, Nicki Welch told Stiles Stilinski that his plaid shirt and Spiderman graphic tee looked stupid. He responded by looking pointedly at her stomach and saying that bloodsucking hookworms were inside about 700 million people.
She cried for two hours, and Ms. Briar made him go to the quiet chair. “One day, your mouth is really going to get you into trouble!” she’d scolded with a wagging finger.
Stiles contemplates those words as his dad’s new deputy hauls him into the station.
He’s still totally going to blame Scott for the situation, though

Then Stiles hears the growl, familiar and furious.
“Oh shiitake mushrooms,” Stiles groans, turning around. “Heeeeey Derek. Isn’t it a little past your bedtime?”
Derek looks as pissed as Stiles has ever seen him and it kind of gives him a little bit of satisfaction, so he snuggles closer to Ricky. Derek bares his teeth at them, thankfully still human and his nostrils flare wildly.
“You’re drunk,” Derek accuses him flatly.
“You’re drunk,” Stiles tells Derek nonsensically.
“This is the ‘not boyfriend’ I’m guessing?” Ricky looks down at Stiles, eyebrow cocked.
Derek full on snarls at that and for the first time in forever, Stiles starts to worry he might lose control of the shift.

Derek grins, all teeth and rips the ticket off with a jerk, placing it in Stiles' hand. His thumb brushes Stiles' wrist and Stiles suppresses a shiver, forcing himself to continue glaring. He watches Derek walk back to the squad car and can see Boyd shaking his head with a smile.
He'd maybe file a complaint if it weren't for the fact that he knows his Dad's password, and can get himself out of most of his tickets. And also because the way Derek fills out that uniform. He'd probably actually pay all the fines just for the pleasure of seeing that everyday, because damn.
