Summary
It's during the seventh Buck-related story that Eddie figures out what is going on. It’s when his tía is telling him how Buck has replaced the squeaky old boards of her porch steps, how he’s coming back the day after to paint them, that Eddie realizes that his aunt is dating Buck.
She’s been dropping hints for weeks now, like a trail of breadcrumbs for Eddie to follow, rather than outright telling him. Well, two can play this tiptoeing game.
"Buck really sounds like a triple threat," he tells her with a smug tone.
"Oh he really is,” she says, matching his tone exactly.

Pepa is trying to set Buck and Eddie up to date. Eddie misunderstands in the most spectacular way and thinks Buck and Pepa are dating. They are absolutely not! -

Summary
In an alternative universe, where the first words spoken to a person by their soulmate are marked on their skin like a tattoo, Buck has "Fuck off" written over his heart.
He's spent most of his life worried about just how much of an asshole his soulmate is going to be, and what that means for their future relationship.
Then he meets the guy outside of a juice bar, and it doesn't exactly go as Buck thought it would. -

Summary
The door to Buck's loft has barely clicked shut behind them before Buck whirls around and crowds Lou against the wall next to it.
He realizes that he was right, Lou is taller, and Buck doesn't mind it one bit. In fact, it gives him perfect access to lean in and press open-mouthed kisses to the tanned skin of his throat that has been teasing Buck ever since Lou popped those top buttons open.
Lou smells of a tantalizing mix of warm skin and a subtle cologne that Buck is instantly addicted to. He chases the scent by pressing closer, wanton and needy.
When his kisses and the tip of his tongue catch the edge of the scar, Lou tenses. Buck almost pulls back to apologize, but before he can move, Lou groans and grips Buck's hips to pull him closer.

Or: Two strangers meet in a bar. Turns out they have something in common. -

Summary
Buck gets a dog and somehow forgets to tell the rest of the 118, which would have been fine if it weren't for the fact that Buck had decided to name the dog Eddie. Confusion ensues.
Human Eddie is also less than thrilled about the name:
"You literally could have given him any name, Buck," he mutters for, what feels like, the hundredth time as Chris is enthusiastically begging Buck to send pictures of all the cute things Eddie has done since Buck brought him home three hours ago.Buck and the dog are lounging on the couch with Eddie snoring lightly on his lap. The Diaz boys are sitting together on a different couch 800-something miles away, but huddled close enough to the phone that Buck can almost make out the small mole beneath human Eddie's eye and the matching one on his son's neck.
The father and son seem relaxed in each other's company - Finally! - and Buck's heart swell with so much happiness for them that he could cry. The rush of affection almost makes him miss the next words out of human Eddie's mouth:
"It's going to be a nightmare of confusion when we come home."

Summary
”Congratulations, Eddie!” Chrissy said, handing his sword back to him, blade still pointing away from herself.
As his gloved fingers closed around the blade, he felt a soft click against his fingertips, and he watched in confusion as the hilt of his sword opened up like a mechanical flower.
This isn't my sword, he had time to think, but he didn't understand what was going on until it was too late.
The green ray of lightning was almost blinding when it shot from the sword and hit Chrissy square in the chest, her eyes widening and her mouth forming a surprised o. Eddie saw the moment she died, the exact moment her eyes went vacant before the blast threw her back across the stage.

After being wrongfully accused of killing the princess during his knighting ceremony, Eddie is forced to flee the city and go into hiding. While trying to gather enough evidence to clear his name, he teams up with a red-headed girl with a fondness for talking about murder and a secret that has made her just as much of an outsider as he isClosely follows the events of the movie Nimona and I would recommend watching it before reading this

Summary
There was a certainty in Eddie, a stability, a finality – the knowledge that six weeks, six months, six years from now, they would still be Buck and Eddie the way they'd always been. BuckandEddie.
He wasn't sure anymore what he would do without Eddie, thought if he did lose Eddie, he might just stop existing altogether, the two of them too intertwined to separate in any way that mattered.
And yet.
Buck knew he was a little bit in love with Eddie, but he didn't know, had never considered the meaning of it. The implication. Had never thought that there was an implication.
Not until Tommy.
And now he wasn't quite sure what to do with that.***
Buck has a series of revelations.

Summary
“Jackson.” God, even Diaz’s voice was gorgeous. Smoother and more addictive than the richest chocolate lava cake could even hope to be. What an asshole. Just showing up and being so…perfect. Like it was nothing. How dare he, actually? “Who’s the new guy?”
“This is Buckley, number eight.” Billy reached up to clap Evan on the shoulder, “Our new running back from fucking Pennsylvania. Can you believe we’ve got a Yankee on our team?” The rest of the group laughed. Evan flushed, shifting his weight as Diaz’s mouth folded into a bitchy little moue of distaste he didn’t even bother to hide.
Or:
When the Buckleys have finally had enough of their son acting out for attention, they ship him off to a relative's El Paso ranch to force him to shape up. Working for his room and board is more exhausting than he could have imagined. Worse, when his work doesn't meet the impossible standards he doesn't get fed.
Eddie's immediately has a soft spot for the new guy who had to transfer all the way across the country for his senior year. But it quickly becomes apparent that something is very wrong with Buck.

Summary
When Buck comes out to Eddie it opens up a whole host of emotions, the least of which not being unwavering jealousy. So he copes with that in a totally normal way, by getting on Grindr and screwing men to help distract his thoughts. It's his own dirty little secret, that is until Buck shows up like a sad puppy on his doorstep while he still has one of those men in his bed. Then trying to hide it makes everything a whole lot messier.

Summary
Eddie blinks away the brightness of the morning. When his vision comes into focus, so does Tommy, who's lying next to him, the mattress dipping under his weight as he sleeps with his cheek tucked up against the opposite pillow.
The comforter is shoved down, low enough that Eddie is able to trace his eyes over Tommy’s shirtless chest, the long line of his side and down to the curve of his hip, which is—bare, all skin, because, Eddie realizes, Tommy’s not wearing underwear.
Tommy is naked.
Eddie jerks backwards and falls out of bed.
“Evan!” Tommy calls as Eddie lands in a heap on the floor.
Or: Eddie wakes up inside Buck's body. It only gets weirder from there.
