First, he loses his essential role of being the Decepticon medic and scientist, just for Shockwave to prance in and rob him of his well-esteemed position, and now he has to be a busboy for not just Shockwave but also the Autobot’s old and cranky doctor?! It was just preposterous. ¨
    Knockout would have sworn not too long ago, he believed in the Decepticon cause to the T, but now? No, he drew the line at a blatant mockery and disrespect for his work. He couldn’t change the teams…now, could he?

    In this fic, Knockout gets sick of the treatment Decepticons hurl his way, especially after Shockwave’s arrival. After some appreciation from Ratchet, a bud of friendship and hope emerges, and Knockout jumps after it, towards the unknown.

    Patty begins to explain the first few sentences but Crystal yanks the papers into her own grasp. “I’ve been an emergency department nurse for twenty years. I know how to read a damn chart.” 

    The other nurse goes quiet, allowing Crystal the space to picture her daughter’s final moments. It’s all gut churning. Nothing she ever wants to apply to her daughter. Wounds she’ll never be able to treat the same, treatments she’ll never be able to perform as she once had. 

    “She received a thoracentesis procedure?” Crystal confirms after reading the chart.

    Patty nods. “Dr. Thompkins performed it herself.” Dr. Thompkins. The physician who led a workshop on thoracentesis. Who boasted having performed the procedure dozens, if not hundreds, of times.

    Or, what if Registered Nurse Crystal Brown did care about how her daughter died? What if she recognized what Batman did: Stephanie should not have died from her wounds?
