    Every heat Qifrey spent with Olruggio was a mistake. It was a line he had sworn never to cross again. Neither regretted crossing it. They only regretted how impossible it became to stay on either side afterward.
    But some bonds are stronger than memory. Some promises are made twice. And some people will find each other, even after being forgotten.

     

    Or, Qifrey discovers that keeping secrets from the person who knows him best is difficult, especially there is now a baby involved.

    After years of circling each other, the Silverwood was burned out, and everything else remained.

    So when Olruggio kindly asked if they could be something more, Qifrey accepting was only natural. For him, it was everything else that was hard: the trauma of the Silverwood, the years of lost experiences, the new scars and the old ones. He never expected to get that far. But when he said he would take back what was stolen from him, he meant all of it—Olruggio included.

    Olruggio describes Qifrey’s weirdness lately. The cleaning of the spare room, the foods, and the frequent leaving of the house to go to who knows where. He keeps it vague though so the man doesn’t know they’re witches.

    The man takes a drink of his meed, “look, if you want my opinion, I think your wife has a bun in the oven.”

    “A what?”

    He waves the drink around, “I’m saying she’s pregnant.”

    Qifrey is bad at telling Olruggio that he’s becoming a teacher. This backfires horribly.
