Summary
It’s the profound tragedy of Lando’s life, he thinks, to realise he’s in love with his teammate – just as Oscar Piastri makes a habit of standing one step higher on the podium, forcing Lando to crane his neck to look at him.
Oscar hates watching the light fade from Lando’s eyes with every victory he takes from him. He accepted the inconvenient truth long ago: he loves Lando. But he loves winning more.

criminally underrated gem, my god. this deserve more recognition.
astronomical level of psychoanalysis; it’s perfect given the context. never once did i felt off with the way the two main characters think, speak, act, the way they carry themselves. their voice in each dialogue gives the impression like it was written from someone who know them personally, almost like i can hear them say all these things. every chapter is filled with beautiful narratives that flows easily, thus read like river, always keeping me on track and engaged. and the pov change always so good everytime, both written in a slightly different style according to their personalities.
don’t get me started with the dynamic. it never strays from how the story unfolds. from oscar slowly coming out the shell of his rookie self, gaining more confidence, more aggression. then you have lando, going from the easygoing senior treatment to having no choice but to reciprocate. the easy banter prior to oscar’s self discovery, the violent dilemma in-between, the olive branch, the fallout, and finally accepting their true desires. god. i don’t think i have the brain capacity to describe how good it was. it’s beyond me.
the family and friendship dynamic is hella wholesome what the helly. there are some aspects i didn’t expect, like adam being a rather overbearing father, but it turns out to be an interesting take. outside of 814, i especially love how sebmark is written here. and the way they constantly haunt the narrative physically or otherwise. i think a lot of people have pointed it out already but it really does align with landoscar doesn’t it?
also really appreciate despite hate-sex being kind of like the driving force of their dynamic it’s never really written in details, always more of a summarisation of it. really puts into perspective how it was never their actual objective.
i usually have reservations on canon divergence multi-chaptered fics especially ones delving on the actual race and title fight after learning that there are so many landoscar shippers who secretly hate one of the people inside the ship (i don’t understand how that’s a thing in every fandom really, doesn’t make any sense to me) resulting to, in my opinion, an unfairly amount of mischaracterisation. like merely using one as a tool. that’s why i really appreciate the neutrality with which agustofwind wrote both mcs and the reality of the title fight.
what a journey, truly. it was an incredible experience and will definitely reread.

Seungcheol hits the small radio against the ground a few times as if that will fix it. The transceiver fades back into a strong fuzz before one clear statement comes through.
“You’re not alone,” It promises. Whoever this is on the other end.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is the most accurate post-apocalypse au I've ever read. Just everyone losing their shit, craving for blood and violence as an outlet or just begging for death to escape from being alive but not living. It's so disturbing it's good I just had to bookmark it.
Also Seungcheol's an asshole. I hope some mutant slave bite his dick off. (Jihoon deserves better btw).

Summary
“So, what I'm gathering is,” Soonyoung says, frowning and laughing, a combo that twists his face into something way too smarmy for Wonwoo to deal with right now. “Seungcheol is a seriously fucked-up wingman.” He grins, slowly and terrifyingly. “Do you know how many dudes would kill to be you, right now? Don't give me that look, I'm straight and I dream about Seungcheol hyung sticking his hands down my pants and telling me everything will be okay.”
