Summary
Kenjirō has spent his entire life preparing to inherit his father’s title as Beta of the North. He was raised by the highest law of Frostfang: that duty to his pack comes before everything else—before comfort, before desire, even before himself. So when negotiations with the South finally become unavoidable, Kenjirō is sent to Duskridge as the North’s representative.
But diplomacy requires proximity, and proximity leads to familiarity. Eita is the South’s Alpha-to-be; he is everything Kenjirō expected to dislike—hot-blooded, uninhibited, stubbornly hopeful about a future Kenjirō should be appalled by. Spending time with him was supposed to keep the peace.
Yet it awakens something neither of them can control: a mate bond strong enough to shatter Kenjirō’s future overnight. Accepting Eita would mean committing high treason against the North and betraying everything he was raised to protect. But resisting the bond brings agony to both him and Eita. And worse—Kenjirō fears what might follow in the wake of that pain. For what would an heir, taught to believe that fate is absolute, do when his fated mate is denied him? What lengths would an Alpha wolf go to claim what is his? Kenjirō isn’t sure he wants to find out.

Summary
Taichi had never believed in coincidences. Reality, to him, was something measurable—graspable, if not by hand then by logic, built on centuries of evolution and reason. He was effortlessly brilliant, though never particularly ambitious; curiosity alone was enough to drive him. And that curiosity had led him straight to TerraGen, to the anomalies and, eventually, to his demise.

One week and three days. That’s how long until Taichi and Hayato’s little bundle of joy was expected to arrive—at least, according to the doctor’s estimate. Needless to say, Taichi was over the moon. After watching their packmates welcome pups of their own into the world one after the other, it was finally their turn. He just couldn’t stop picturing Hayato curled up in their nest with their newborn baby, and he was more than ready to become the doting, overprepared dad he was born to be. Ten days left to spoil Hayato rotten—until his mate inevitably decided to revoke his credit card priviledges again for going overboard on pregnancy essentials. What could possibly go wrong? Absolutely nothing. Probably. Though in hindsight… maybe a longer conversation about genetics wouldn’t have hurt.

I absolutely loved this! The way Eita and Kenjirō were portrayed was just so well done. And I can’t believe this was written all the way back in 2015… I’m sitting here in 2025 reading it like, what the heck?! Just want to say—this story has aged incredibly well. 10/10, absolutely beautiful! ♡
