“When was the last time you saw him?” She asked.
He glanced at her, shrugging, “Last time everyone saw him. At his so-called coronation. Haven’t seen him since, nobody has, besides you.”
Valkyrie nodded, swallowing slowly. She looked around the small pub, then turned back to the bar. She straightened up, leaning in closer. Fandral watched her carefully.
“Look… I need your help.” She said quietly.
He gave her a look that she couldn’t quite read.
“He’s as bad as people say he is, isn’t he?”
She didn’t want to answer that, but she had to. She reluctantly nodded. Fandral shook his head, staring down at his empty glass.
“How bad? I’ve only heard rumors, how much of it is true?” He asked after a moment.
Valkyrie shrugged, swirling the last bit of beer in her mug around. “Just about all of it.

Five years after the events of Endgame, Loki is King of New Asgard after the death of his brother. He does good work, keeps the council on track, does all the accounting and balances the books - the only problem though - He hasn't stepped foot out of his house in five years...

Summary
There- just up ahead. He saw a body lying in the sand.
He recognized it immediately, and suddenly every fiber of his being understood what his mission was.
He ran as hard as he could, though the sand made that very difficult. He could see the body slowly start to be engulfed by the ground.
“No,” He choked, pumping his arms as hard as he could, “No, I’m- I’m almost there- Loki! Just wait- Just wait for me! I’m almost-” Fandral screamed, hearing his voice echoing back at him from every direction. His eyes stayed focused on the outreached hand that was the only thing still above the sand.

Fandral is plagued by nightmares of finding Loki's (close-to) dead body on the wasteland of a planet after their battle with the Dark Elves.

“What’s that smell?” Loki asked as Fandral brought his hands to face, bringing him in for a ‘welcome home’ kiss. When the blonde pulled away he saw the smallest hint of a smile on the dark prince's lips, it was far more than he had seen in a very long time.
“Dinner.” Fandral gleamed, squeezing Loki’s shoulders, “Does it smell good?”
“It smells fantastic.” He sounded tired, he always sounded tired.

After the death of Odin, the defeat of Hela, and the destruction of Asgard was all said and done, Loki thought he would have plenty of time to figure everything out.
After every bad thing that has happened, he was sure to run into a streak of luck very soon...
Honestly, how could things possibly get any worse?
(They get worse. So much worse.)
(A.K.A - Loki's magic starts malfunctioning after his ties with Asgard are severed upon its destruction. The spell that Odin used to hide his heritage breaks and Loki has to cast a glamor constantly to keep himself hidden. But that has dire consequences.)

On board the Statesmen, Fandral was expecting to take the next step in their relationship. Odin was gone, Asgard was gone - He thought this was the start for them.
But Loki still seemed to be having trouble with the closet door. It just keeps getting stuck.
