“I dunno, I think Joyce could get it,” Eddie offers, and then they’re all laughing. “Though there’s only one of us here who knows. What say you,” and Eddie leans over to ogle Nancy, “like mother like—?”
Robin gets him in the ribs at the same time Steve steps on his toes. Nancy tucks her hair behind one red-tipped ear, but she’s smiling. In on the joke.
“So what exactly,” Steve repeats, louder this time, “are we watching, then?”

Summary
Some part of Steve knows this is a dream. It’s that odd, off-center feeling, like he knows approximately what is real. Like looking at a picture and knowing someone was supposed to be standing in an empty space. He remembers the 1980 Hawkins Middle School Talent Show, but only vaguely.
After the fight with Vecna, Steve Harrington keeps listening to Eddie's Walkman. Keeps dreaming of Eddie. Each night brings a different scenario, another moment in their lives where Steve could have met him--could have become his friend. As the dreams continue, he realizes... they might not just be dreams.

Summary
Steve has no idea what type of bat it is – he’s never really been an animal guy, and it’s a bitch to make out details in the dark. But he can tell it’s small, with a pair of huge, dark eyes set in a furry face. No petal-shaped head hiding a mouthful of sharp teeth. It’s not shrieking and trying to rip out a mouthful of his flesh. It’s shivering and watching him warily, and for some reason all he's reminded of is Eddie Munson, trembling and clutching a broken bottle in Reefer Rick’s boathouse while his life falls apart around him.
