He tangles a lock of colourless hair between long, tan fingers, and then looks up at its owner as though regarding a painting: retracing brush strokes and hues with analysing eyes. Looking at a person, but only an image of one. “Your hair, it should be black by now. Like this, you cannot be real.”
Knives finds himself smiling, at what he is not sure. “You’re one to talk, dead man.”
