The instance when Kokichi gets fond of something or someone, whether it be fictional or not, Shuichi observed Ouma-kun to be just going on and on about what makes them his favorite. Basically he would just not shut up about it. It's really obvious, not that Shuichi's bragging. He just knew some of Ouma's antics as his boyfriend at this point. Well, mostly. Shuichi's still in the process of finding new things about him sometimes.
He knew this is supposed to be one of those instances.
But to his surprise, Ouma didn't continue.
And Shuichi couldn't believe it.
"That's it?! He's a detective?!"
kokichi ouma became obsessed with that character from genshin impact named shikanoin heizou who is a detective.
OR: saihara's bf just has a thing for detective characters which ended up with saihara being lowkey(?¿?) pouty and jealous about it (+ it didn't help that saihara is so touch-starved either)

Yoshiki’s breath caught as they reviewed the scene in front of them. He sat on his friend's bed with Hikaru laid out over his lap.
No, not Hikaru. The thing that dressed like Hikaru. Smiled like Hikaru. Laughed like Hikaru. The thing that came down from the mountain that wasn’t Hikaru but wanted to be. That horrible, frightening, terrifying thing that walked around with his best friend's corpse was now splayed out before him, with its pants down. It was whimpering from the pain, pain it shouldn’t feel but somehow understood. Its butt, Hikaru’s butt, was bright red from repeated strikes. It was warm to the touch. Much too warm for a corpse.
Yoshiki’s hand felt too warm. All of him felt too warm.
When this had all started, he would have never guessed he’d end up in this sort of situation. He really shouldn’t be here.
But what other choice did he have? Hikaru needed him. Yoshiki knew that this Hikaru needed him to guide and teach him how to be human. How to be a person. How to be good.
And a quiet voice that Yoshiki had ignored for years told him that he needed this just as badly.
