Summary
Castiel was just stunning. The kind of beauty you would see in renaissance paintings, and that was an understatement itself. He was caring, overbearing at times, yes, but that never truly made Dean mad or uncomfortable.
(He really liked it, really)
No matter how hard Dean got "pissed" at Castiel for that, they both know he never meant it. The grin on his face usually gave it away. Or the way Dean’s eyes shone and crinkled with happiness - happiness he tried so hard to bury deep, and never let it come back up.
Every time he tried, it always failed anyways.
Castiel was breaking down his walls. These walls, which Dean had always made sure stayed strong, were slowly starting to wear down, and he was worried one day, they would crumble completely.
He would never let that happen.
Right?

Technoblade told Phil once that he likened him to an angel, and Phil had laughed in his face, the sound of it ringing like church bells.
“Techno, mate,” he’d giggled, “I get I have the wings ‘nd all – “and what a sight they were, brilliant crows wings as black as the void, iridescent against moonlight “- but I’m not an angel, I’m just some guy.”
Technoblade had decided then that he’d work to prove Phil wrong, would work to make him angelic, even if it meant pulling down a halo from the heavens and placing it upon Phil’s head himself.

Why was he doing this? Why wasn’t he taking care of himself? It didn’t understand how robots or machines worked but even the sparse metal of their tools eroded in the rain over time. They had to be taken care of as they wore out. They had to be cleaned, they needed polishing and vinegar and steel wool, it knew for a fact Andre had some stored somewhere—
Even that wore down the material.
Even the most well-kept tools had to be replaced eventually.
Pockmarked steel. Wear on the wiring. Andre could not replace where he wore away. Rust and wear ate and ate and ate at him and he was so, so different from the basic tools they maintained at home. It did not know how to repair a frayed wire. Andre was the only electrical thing in Collin’s whole world, as far as it knew.
Confused fury drowned in a stark, frigid terror.
(Andre was never meant to live long. He cannot stand to acknowledge it, let alone accept a solution. Assimilation cannot stand to watch him deteriorate.)
