Summary
Sung Jin-Woo is still the Shadow Monarch and he still grows in power unlike any other hunter. However, he doesn't have the system to back him up. He is a reawakened hunter with the skill to create undead shadow soldiers without any cheats or instant healing. Bearing the injuries of the double dungeon must fight the trials ahead of him with far more public scrutiny than before.
In other words
Solo leveling but there's no system and Jin-Woo responds to things like a real person who has emotions. He's still OP but not nearly to the level as in canon. He functions with the same worldbuilding as all the other Hunters in the setting, with things taking a pretty different course in the long run.

Summary
Atsumu has a long history of pissing people off, but this time he’s gone too far. Someone wants him dead, and although he doesn’t know who or why, it becomes clear very quickly that both he and Osamu are in danger. After a couple of close calls, Kita - the Kumicho of Inarizaki - decides it’s not safe for the two of them to stay in Hyogo; not until he finds out who placed the hit and eliminates them.
Atsumu reluctantly finds himself in Tokyo, taken in by a yakuza group that’s nothing like Inarizaki. The Black Jackals are a different breed, more lethal than he’s used to, and Sakusa Kiyoomi is the worst of them all. Of course that’s who Atsumu gets stuck with, and he and Sakusa are in constant competition for who hates each other more.
Tokyo should be a safe haven but between Atsumu’s bloody new assignments, the lingering threat on his life, and all the days trapped with Sakusa, Atsumu isn’t sure he’ll make it out of Tokyo alive.

Summary
Atsumu only gets through the rest of the day on the promise of leaving work early, right after he picks up one freshly out of an industry internship Sakusa Kiyoomi. Part of him wonders why hotshot I aced the inorganic chem exam which the entire cohort flunked Sakusa returned to academia instead of sticking to the industry. Atsumu is pursuing an academic PhD because he wants to teach one day – always has, always will, no matter how many people forget their argon taps open or break his schlenk line, because the look in his students’ eyes when they get a concept, when chemistry hooks them in, is priceless.
Sakusa likes to brag about his grades and doesn’t like to share his dicyclopentadiene, so really, Atsumu pities his students.
In some other timeline, Atsumu pursued his high school passion for volleyball and became an olympic gold medalist. In this timeline, he has to deal with his reactor breaking, the overbooked Autochem and teaching bored biology students how to do vacuum filtration. Oh, and Sakusa Kiyoomi.
