Summary
The Purge AU.
In this universe, Shane and Ilya never fell in love, they just kept hating each other.So when Montreal is sent to Boston for a game on the day of the Purge, Shane already knows Rozanov will find a way to make a bad situation even worse. The league swears they’ll be back inside their secured hotel long before 7 PM. The schedule is safe, the route is protected, everything has been planned.
Then Shane and Ilya start a fight on the ice.
One possible concussion, one injured hand, and two fighting penalties later, they’re still arguing in the arena’s medical room while everyone else is rushing to leave. A car is supposed to come for them.
But the arena is getting quieter, the clock is getting closer to 7 PM, and the car still isn’t there.
“Why is the final horn going off again?”
Ilya didn’t answer. He stood across from Shane with his head tilted slightly, listening. Then he looked past Shane at the clock before slowly meeting his eyes again.
“That’s not the final horn.”
