“I knew his face three years dead beneath a domino. I knew it as he carved a chunk of flesh from his own scalp and cursed my name…” His fingertips drift to a spot two inches behind his ear. Is that uneven texture the sign of a years-old scar, or just a tangle of hair?

fuuuckk i love fics where its simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking like shit. the fact that tim sees jason as jason while dick and bruce will only ever see him as the hood, fuuuckkk!!! i live for john constantine and jason being buddies. and fuckkk so many instances of bruce ignoring every part of jason that is human. asking john why he didnt just force him into the water and then jason explaining that talia hurt herself to lower him into the pit. fuckkkk. also sasha

Summary
Superboy-Prime decides that, if every super gets to have a bat for a best friend, he's entitled to have Jason as his! Jason is less so convinced. "Who. The fuck. Else. Is going to." He gritted, glaring across at him. Dick went quiet, and the basement's darkness seemed to flatten the air around them as they stood in each other's company, slightly awkward.
Dick swallowed, making an aborted gesture over at him. "So what are you a ghostbuster or something?"
"Oh my god," Jason groaned to himself, instantly turning and walking over to the hole leading out, preparing his grapple so he could leave. He did not have time for this.

Having use of the All-Blades means Jason's pretty used to being the most qualified person in Gotham to deal with supernatural issues. Why Dick's randomly started trying to help he has no fucking clue.

He really can't help himself, even when Jason wants to kill him. Actually, Tim thinks that Jason wanting him dead only exacerbates the whole issue, but no one asks about it (because no one knows), so he never tells (and he never will).
